If you look at the "japanese" photos the cars are all left hand drive, not right hand drive as they should be.
How do I know that there are no JDM Eclipses....because I tried to buy one.
I finally ended up buying a 1st gen in Chicago and importing it.
There are some european spec but they were non-turbos and all were LHD. The JDM spec rear lights are actually Euro spec.
Eclipses were USA only models and that is a direct quote from Mitsubishi Europe in the Netherlands

well they may not be rhd, but they were made to japanese and eurpean specs with the amber rear turn signals (european/japanese), amber side repeater light (japanese/european), a different front turn signal location where the US fog lights are (japanese), rear fog light (european), amber front sidemarker (later european 1Gs), speedo in kph (canadian, european, japanese).... yada, yada, yada...

I am not arguing about the differences, I just said that there are no JDM Eclipses.
I know this because I tried to buy one.
JDM is hugely popular in Ireland, from Type R Hunduh's to Type RA Scoobys and Skylines we get em all but no Eclipses

I know all Eclipses are left hand drive, the car was directly designed for the US/Cananda market but Mitsu still sold a few thousand back home. There is even the very "rare" 2nd gens that were sold in '95 in Japan.

Yes.......But Mitsubishi denies all this.
Officially DSM are US market only.
Mitsubishi Europe refused to quote me part numbers for "JDM" rear lights required to get my car through the SVA examination.
For the record changes needed to be performed on a DSM to get registered in UK are.....New head lights because LHD cars dip the "wrong direction" (Not available so Im going to graft in some M5 headlights)
Addition of rear fog light and dash mounted switch (Im going to replace one of my reversing lights)
Addition of side marker/indicator (Im going to use some of the new M3 style mirror kits with the indicators built in) and thats about it really

I can dump nall the smog equipment and the A/C. Then its just a matter of a LHD to RHD conversion and fabricate a new dash.
Easy be finished by tea time

One other thing, Since I got the car here I have spanked a couple of fast Scoobys and 1 Evo 6. Dsm's are faster than you might think
