Someone told me tonight that if i get the blitz super sound (custom for eclipse turbo gen2) that i would get drivability problems (i.e. stalling). i DO NOT want stalling. my car is a daily driver and i want it to stay driveable. not sure if i should pick thru the junkyards for a 1G, or just get an aftermarket one. supposedly there are a few 1G turbos out in the local yard, but no one has lifted the hood. just saw them there. if its a good mod for me, i will go out there. but if it may be best to get an aftermarket one i won't bother.

If you want to use the blitz you'd need the recirculation kit so you don't blow off to the atmosphere, and end up with drivability issues. The 1g BOV is great, it'll hold plenty of boost and it's the cheapest out there. Granted it isn't as flashy or as loud as some of the aftermarket ones, it does the job well. I'd say go look for one and spend the money you would have for the blitz on an upper intercooler pipe to bolt it on to as the stock one is crap. You can find those from about $70-$120. Good luck.

I ordered mine from RRE ( www.roadraceengineering.com ), for $90. I also ordered Upper IC piping at the same time. Total came to be $200 shipped.

I'm sure you can find cheaper ones, but that is what I paid for mine.

Not that I endorse ebay or something, but yesterday there where some auctions for 1G blow-off valves for about $25.00 bucks or something and the sellers had a nice feedback too. Either way get the 1G one and an aftermarket Upper IC pipe too like the guys here have told you.

hey, ebay rocks! i have sold ten's of thousands of dollars worth of car parts/friends stuff (where did they get it? i don't know nothing) and various crap. never even thought of it. Ebay here i come! then junkyard here i come! lol.

You can find what your looking for at the junkyard(cheapest), "thepartstrader" , ebay or "dsmtrader".

Oh and the guy selling the BOV off a non turbo, you better check his seller rating because non turbos dont have a BOV.

quick question about this valve,

I just bought dejontool upper intercooler pipes and i have a crushed 1G valve... Do i need a gasket or something between the pipe and the valve? i would like to know before i go and install it. thanks again :)

Well how much boost do you plan to be running in the near future. I understand that the stock 1G BOV can hold up to 18psi. I dunno how much it can hold crushed though. Cause I plan to be hitting 20psi in the near future and I think I am going to need an aftermarket BOV. Just take that into consideratin, but if you find the 1G BOV cheap, then by all means go for it. You could always sell it later on if you do upgrade BOV

Mclarke, I think you do need a gasket for it. Not 100% sure, but I would put my money on needing gasket.

where to get this gasket? or should i just go buy some gasket material and make my own......

You need some sort of gasket as was stated before. When I ordered my UIC pipe from RRE it came with one, so I know they have them. You could probably call and find out what they use if you need to know right away.
