I recently came across a 1991 AWD Eagle Talon TSi for a flat $1000. It has been sitting in the car lot for 4 years and nobody has even looked at it because he parks it in the very back. The only thing wrong that the guy said and that I saw was the interior is very bad, scratches on the body and a dead battery. The engine works great. I'm thinking about buying it and making it into a project. The question is, should I fix up the talon or swap all the working parts into my NT Laser?

I forgot to mention that my Laser is almost mint. Interior is flawless and the body is new-like except faded paint on the hood. It would be nice to put a turbo engine in my Laser, but I just want to know which would be better.

Keep both cars. Belive me, I've seen so many people without a car because they're doing some super duper mod of death on their daily driven car.

If you can afford both, then get both. Keep the NT for daily driven and fix up the GSX. Honestly, if you're looking for a drag machine of death, get the GSX and fix it. The NT isnt going to be as fast, too much problems with putting on the turbo and too much problems with geting the traction. AWD makes all the difference.

mod the gsx and keep the nt as well if you can

its not as easy as it sounds. there are lots of little hang ups you can run into on the way. trust me.

keep both cars and put the minimum into the lazer. fix that turbo up till u have no home, and smoke everyone! ur gonna want that lazer for every day use, and for a grand, thats a damn good deal. i found an 89 conquest for sale for 900 bucks because were i live, noone knows the POTENTIAL. its phatt. i just cant afford the insurance.

yes, keep the nt for a daily driver.

let me tell you from experience. I have a 1993 talon tsi project car and a 1990 NT, 5 speed. I still get 400 miles per tank on the NT and since i know how to fix it... anything that happens to it i can easily get it back on the road asap. it's cheaper and easier too!

also man if you can't drive this thing how do you REALLY know what is wrong with it???
talonNT

If for some reason you decide not to buy the car, let me know where it's at cuz I'll find a way to get there and buy it. $1000 for a working 1G AWD is fine by me (as long as it only needs a battery to run I can afford that). I don't give a fuck what it looks like on the inside or outside, as long as the damn thing runs and hasn't been in a major accident that's all I care about. I'll be dropping a new engine and tranny in it as soon as I save the money up anyway. Please, if you do decide not to buy the car, either post in this thread, PM me, or send me an e-mail at flyermax2k1@yahoo.com.

thanks in advance

The car dealership is in Odessa, TX. I can run up there and get the VIN number and look up the car's history on CarFax if you want. I just spent $1500 on repairs on my car, so I don't know if I'm going to be buying the Talon any time soon.

That'd be fcuking (yes, fcuking) great man! If you could give me their phone # and address too that'd help, I'd like to talk to them before I actually go down there. I need to find out for a fact if the car only needs a new battery or if it will require more work. Also, if you know of any reputable mechanics in the area that can run a full spectrum of tests on the car for a reasonable price to let me know if I should buy it or not, that'd be sweet too. I have relatives in both OK and TX so I can have another excuse for going down there as well.

Thanks in advance
