Well I'm about to get a 92 Talon tsi awd and need some help.
I allready have 4 6.5 infinities from my old car. The backs are 6*9's stock and fronts 4's. I dont' see a problem fiting the 6.5's in where the 6*9's were but has anyone cut out the front door to fit biger speakers on a 1G. I was thinking this would be the cheapest way for me to get a stereo in there since I allready have the stuff and most of my money will be put into paying for the car, if any is left over moding it more, so I don't want to spend any money on the stereo, well i allready have a ~$1k setup too so I wana put it in there if i can.
Oh hell the trunks are small in thoes things, the box I have for my 2 12's is huge (filled the trunk of a 91 saturn sl2), it's not going to fit in there if I keep them (might sell them and the amps for mod money plus keeping weight down). Anyone have a cool setup in their car as far as subs go so I can get some ideas. Thanks all. Later. :rudolph: hehe, I just liked that one so I had to use it. Peace.

I've installed speakers on a 1G before. From what I remember, the factory speaker is mounted to a piece of formed plastic, like in the 2G's. All you have to do is remove that plastic along with the factory speaker, and a 6.5 will drop right in, as long as it's not too deep. No cutting is required. At least that's how some of the 1Gs are. I would think they're all the same.

Thanks all. Anyone got bumps in the trunks, I need ideas, I can not fit what I have in there now, way to big, way to heavy?? I really like the Bouston Acoustics comp 10 with a passive 10 in their box but $$$ for one speaker (well kind of).

I like that saucy91gsx, are thoes speerate tweters in the center of each of thoes speakers, umm, I have on the tip of my tounge who I think makes thoes but can't remember?? Will I have to use my grills that came with the speakers, blah, I like the factory look (it's not awesoem looking but I like lowww key setups, not a flashy guy). Maybe I'll paint the grills tan if I have to use them, that might look good. Once again thanks!:D

They are rockford fosgate hpc series. Yes those are swivel tweeters. Heres a pic of the 6x9s that match them. For reference the 6x9s are 200w a piece, the 6.5s are 150w a piece and the 4s are 100w a piece peak. The 6x9s have a huge magnet so rear stock mounts had to be adjusted.

Sound quality would suck if you put stock covers over them (behind door panel) vs mounting over them. And for mine it would defeat the purpose of adjustable swivel tweeters that you cant get to with door over them. I tried it 1st under the doors and the quality was drowned out compared to now.

Yeah, I would imagine if you had the twetters like that it would be like puting them into the begining of a cavern you could say. I think I will use the covers that came with the speakers and paint them tan in the front, I'm really liking that idea. Gona be some work in the back though. I don't really want to buy 6*9's for the back so I'm gona try and fit my 6.5's in there, might have to put them bellow the stock stuff
