Usually I get 250-260 miles for 10 gallons, which is what I put in it because I leave a little in the tank when I fill it up. If I go to empty I can get a little over 300 miles (around 310 miles), but that I can put in 11-12 gallons. Average fuel economy I've seen with both city/hwy driving is 24-27 mpg. GSTs are more fuel efficient though.
 
180 miles per tank, 1995 gsx. Runs great though. Waiting for new O2 sensor(oem) and new fuel filter.

Please let my mileage increase
 
how much do you think my gas mileage will go up with the new O2 sensor and fuel filter? Could there be another problem? there are no boost leaks. Doesnt burn rich enough to make black smoke under full throttle. Plugs dont look bad either. DOnt understand. If i really gas it for a full tank i will only get like 150 miles. Man i hope the mileage goes up.

On the highway with a full tank of gas i can get like 375miles per tank. Vs city driving hard at 150 miles per tank. If girlfriend drives it for a week about 180-200 miles a tank. Usaully only put 45-50 litres in.
 
300 miles working monday through friday sitting in stop and go traffic for 45 minutes. :( straight highway is 375 or more...depending on how good i "top off" :)
 
I get like 210 on a tank.... 95 talon AWD.... the talons have smaller tanks than the eclipses, so you have to factor that in too. talons I think have 12 gal. and eclipses I think are 14 or 15.

my eclipse has a 12 gallon, and on about 10 - 11 gallons of gas i get anywhere from 190 - 240, i know my car is running rich, i thought at first i hooked up my A/F gauge wrong, but i can tell by the soot that is running extremely rich... stupid thing, gotta wait till the dsm link comes in..
 
I think it would be better to frame this discussion in MPG as opposed to Miles per tank as there are differences in gas metering devices and where each one can shut off the flow...as well as differing tank sizes

I use the trip odometer and try to fill it right up to the top.


My 5 speed Talon gets about 22 MPG and that is mostly highway driving. It sounds like I am due up for an O2 sensor. I think the injectors are leaking a little too, but not enough to cause any real problems.

If my mileage dips to under 20 MPG, then it is time for some new parts.

OK, it's time for the GST97ORL and stanfosd gas mileage contest again!!

So far, I've only seen Scott and I post miles per tank over 400. I don't know exactly what HIS mods are, but I have a 16G, fuel pump, exhaust, FMIC, full hard pipe intake, blah blah all that supporting stuff...I run 17psi, my A/F is usually around .92v and I still get over 26 mpg. Actually, the highest I've gotten is almost 29mpg. I know Scott's seen 430 miles, I've seen 410. This is on a full, non-topped off, 14.5-gallon fill run down to when the light comes on.

I know AWD's will get somewhat less mpg, but still 150...ACK!!

Now, for me the 410 was granny-driving for the whole tank. A normal tank of gas, driven the way I normally do will last me at least 350 miles EVERY TIME, with an mpg of 25. I don't drive on the highway alot, my normal speed to and from work is 35mph. Something has to be making your mileage that bad.
 
I have, as Jeff said, hit 430 on a tank. This was not really driving though. I was trying to get the best mpg I could. I was not boosting over 5psi at all, and there were a lot of highway miles, but also a lot of back road driving. I still have the t25 @ 18psi, star/quest fmic, intake, catback, SAFC (zeroed) and the fuel pump re-wired. I am running .96, so I think If I were to log and have an egt to get my fuel set right, I could beat 430 on a tank. Bet seeing as how I dont think I am going to spend the $$ for an egt, I really dont want to lean my o2's out. Anyway, just some background info. BTW: that 430mi tank was ~32mpg (normal fill up to light on). I probably could have pushed it further, but it is not worth walking or damaging the fuel pump just to find out.

I always get at least 330 per tank unless I am pegged at full boost the whole time. Then it is like 280.

and I am a big guy (250) and aways have crap in my car. No lightening of it at all.
 
OK...


1. I need a bigger gas tank in my Talon if I do indeed have a 12 gallon one...What a rip if the GSX gets a bigger tank...I thought the cars were functionally identical.

2. To be conservative, I guestimate 20 MPG all the time to account for the occasional beating on it, I also leave myself a 2 gallon cushion, so (20 MPG X 10 gallons) equals 200 miles per tank.

Coincidentally, my last car was a 1991 Isuzu Stylus (Geo Storm) was a 1.6L, 90 HP auto. My average MPG with that car was 22-24 and I beat on it a lot. So to gain a turbo and AWD for a few MPG is still worth it. :D
