NEED HELP ASAP! #MD031805 (oil filter) can I use it on my 95 GSX??

I picked up a OEM oil filter part #MD031805 this morning to do my first oil change.

I called the dealer just now and they said that this is the wrong oil filter.. I notice the oil filter that was on the car is a little more skinnier and longer. Can I still use this oil filter??????
