ECU location

I have a 97 GS-T Eclipse i was wondering if anyone knew where the ECU is located.

Please explain in detail.

Not sure about 2g's proly the same, but in 1g's they are behind the radio, behind the dash. A square bronze looking box.

how big is it,, i thought it was only like 3 inchs big.. it has screws holding it in right?

Way bigger than 3 inches, in my 1g its about the size of a notebook.

how many screws are holding it in. Do i need to take off the passanger side panel as well?

Not sure about 2 g guys, but i believe my 1g was held in by 4 mounting screws. I had to take the lower panels off tho to unplug stuff and get to it more easily tho.

thanks for the info, Ok any 2G'ers in here know how to take off the side panel cap off without breaking the damn thing lol. i tried for about 10 min then said screw it since i been out there messing with the ecu for like 2 hours had to put it back togather becuase i need her tommorrow!

you'll need to remove the two side panels, the ecu is right behind the radio. I have a 99 and the ecu is a black plastic box about 5x5x1.5" , it's bolted to the car by 3 bolts, two on the driver side and one on the passenger side.

in my 95 its a bronze box, 3 bolts to take it off, 2 on driver and 1 on passanger, as for those plastic screw type things, gently pry them out with a flathead screw driver...

No offense, but by what I've read in this thread it is probably better that you can't get to your ECU. What do you need it for?
