Maybe someone can help me out. My factory Tachometer does not read correctly. At idle it reads 400-500 rpm and at red line it reads around 5k(i have checked it with my pocket logger). Has anyone else experieced anything like this?

I dont know what to do. Hopefully i wont have to make a trip to the dealer.
Thanks
Tim

no, it did this after i took out the gauge pod to put on a carbon fiber bezel. When i put it back it didnt work correctly. How exactly does the tach work. I know it reads a electrical signal from the computer, but how does the tach correspond this to rpms. If i accidently touched the needle could this of screwed this up? Is there a way to recalibrate the gauge?

The same thing happened to me. Go back and make sure that you have pushed your guage cluster in all the way. I thought I had but when I opened it back up and was pissed I was able to push it in a little more and now everything is peachy.
