I swear, here in sacramento, there seems to be waaay more Mustangs and Camero's than DSM's/imports. I don't usually race Domestics (except for 1 race with a Lincoln Mach 8) but one night cruising down Sunrise BLVD, a 96-99 Mustang GT owner drove next to me and gave me the "Pshh, silly 4banger" look. Figuring in my head we were already rolling at about 40 mph, I punch it. Long story short, i race him till the end of fourth and i beat him...by a car's distance! I was so shocked since ive never raced one before and beating one made me feel great! I just thought they were pure beasts (being a v8 and all). I felt so great, that i race 2 other ones the next day, beating a 00'-02' model by half a car (prolly automatic tho since i know they are stronger) and the 2nd GT i had my ass handed to me by a car's distance. All in all, its cool to tell the v8 guys that all i have is intake and exhausts as performance upgrades and able to hang with them. Now what would it take to hang with the Cobra's....

Mustangs aren't fast they just pack a hell of a lot of torque which comes in handy for burnouts :D

Nice kill, If I'm not mistaken our top speed is somewhere around 158 or 160mph. Not sure if that true or not though but I know i had mine up to 145 and still had some left.

Its not what speed you can obtain but how fast you get there..

Those 00-02 GTs are beauties and very potent.

where should i begin...

1. fast is a relative word, i am sure it varies for each of us, but, i would then assume that dsms arent that fast in your opinion because...

2. 83 thru 93 fox bodies are faster..maybe not always quicker to the mark but surely more mph. fwds probably close but that my call

3. 99 and up..no contest

4. the sohc 96 thru 98 are the only ones we are, in the majority, faster than. perhaps even 94 95 with the 5 litre but i wouldnt choose a side there

5. there are rules and exceptions to the rule. my friend has a 92 lx with an at and its a dog{lost to a fiero gt} i also know a guy who went 14.45 at 96 w/ a 1.9 short time in a stock 93 lx{manual} he also drives a 592 cubic inch stang. i of course do not think these are rules rather exceptions.

all in all i would say the rule is we would get outrun. not ness. lose in the quarter but being quick and being fast are different
