I really need some help on this, becuase its driving me crazy, I've got a 90 Laser RS Turbo thats doing something strange. I'll be climbing a hill, and it will max out on boost, and the engine will stop revving up, if I drop a gear, it keeps doing it. But if I keep it from boosting, it seems to rev up better. Does anyone have any idea's about whats going on here!?!?

I'm trying to think of the best way to describe it... It's like the power basicly die's, it really feels like the turbo is holding back the car, but that doesn't make any sense. It doesn't do it all the time, some days the car will run perfect and put out the power it should, but others... Some times it kind of lurchs to if I back off on the gas. Does that help any?

Sounds like your getting fuel cut. This happens when your trying to get more boost then what the stock fuel pump can handle! The ECU will cut the fuel, to try & save the motor. The stock fuel pump can only handle up to about 14psi of boost safely in it's current state. If your using a manual boost controller, back it out & lower your boost a few psi, & also disconnect your positive battery cable for about 30 seconds so you can reset the ECU!

If you want, you can also rewire the fuel pump so you can get more fuel into your engine. But if your not using a manual boost controller, do a compression check on your engine to see if it's in good health! Then check the timing...

Sincerely,
Saber!...!...!
=)
