In a 3rd gear pull to 6600 I hit 1761 Karman on my S-afc. This is on about 17psi. Is this a good reading?

Seems a little low, but is your MAS modified?

I have 625's and an S-afc, for only a TD05-16g, there is no way in hell for me to have the need to mess with my MAS, so to answer, nope still stock. You really think that's low? Cause I was thinking the same thing myself.

I had the stock intake hose and MAF with lower honeycomb removed and screw backed flush and with my small 16g I saw 2090hz at WOT.
Now with the Dejon intake and 18g I'm seeing about 2310hz.

I have a similar setup to you. I am also running a small ported 16G. Doesn't seem low to me. I am running about 18psi, and I top out at about 1800. I bought the turbo used from a friend and I think he was seeing about 2100~2200Ka, but he had a FMIC and was running about 22psi. That is what is holding me back at this point (well aside from the fact that my car has been pretty much broken for 6 months).

So why am I having these low readings? What could be the possible causes?

Again, I don't think they are that low for the boost you are running. You have an upgraded fuel pump, why not turn up the boost, and retune? Everyone's situation will be different, but you appear to have all the supporting mods. I am not that versed with the Supra IC, and it greatly depends on your climate, setup, car ect. but you might be able to turn it up to at least 20 if not 22 or so. Just take it in steps and watch your numbers. Make sure you are giving it enough fuel and you should be fine.

Really? I don't doubt it but that sound really high to me. Maybe you are just one of those people who have "beasts" for cars. But a lot of it does have to do with temperature, altidude, ect.

I have seen other people with somewhat similar numbers to me, but I think mine would also improve with upgrading my exhaust.

I have a 3" DP, but still have the stock (gutted) cat, and an exhaust (Hiper) that although is 3", necks down to the stock cat. Major restriction to the airflow.

Have you ported the turbo or exhaust manifold?
Check for shaft play in the turbo.
Run more boost.
Check for boost leaks. (boost leaks won't lower the HZ count, but it will prevent you from running more pressure)
Have you cut your dump tube?
What air filter are you using?
Why did you stop at 6600? (I get another 100hz between 6500 and 7500)

Either way, as Joe says, your numbers don't seem THAT low.

Oh, I didn't even notice that. Good call Brian. ;). You and Des need to come swim/eat dinner. Haven't seen you guys in a while.
He is also in Colorado, which is a significant elevation difference. I would imagine that lends to the increased HZ count also.

And yeah, we will. We didn't finish at Todd's last night until almost 10. We couldn't find any of Destiny's lug nuts, and crap like that. Took forever.

1) The turbo is ported, but not the exhaust mani
2) I have no shaft play what-so-ever
3) I seem to have maxed everything out, I get 17* of timing at the top of 3rd with no flatspots or dips on the graph. Perhaps I am just lost at how to tune further, help me if that is the case :)
4) There is no boost leak
5) I am using a 3" ABS intake pipe
6) K&N FIPK, fully cleaned
7) Every post I have seen for small 16g's says 6800rpms in 1st, and about 6500 in the rest.

If you want to compare airflow numbers for a given turbo, 16g-95GSX, tell us what your pocketlogger is seeing for lb/min airflow at that boost and rpm. :D Hz doesnt mean anything. Your AFC and 625's are hacking your airflow numbers, to make the ECU see less airflow. It does not mean there is less airflow. I also can see a difference of 300-400 hz going from 6500-7500 rpms.

Alright, I will try this. Exactly what on the pocketlogger am I logging when I try to get this figure?
