It's so easy to do it's not even funny. Just make sure the pressure is out of the line and get ready to get gas everywere. Unbolt the fuel rail and some wire harness.. And the battery. Spark is bad. And just pull the injectors out and put the new ones in. That simple.. Also be careful with the spacers on the fuel rail. I drop one and had a had time finding it. Later.

Follow the instructions in the shop manual.

You do have a shop manual, right?

To install injectors, all you have to do are remove the 3 bolts that hold the fuel rail to the intake manifold and then lift the rail off. The injectors push into the rail. Make sure you remove the electrical connections first, and make sure that the 3 black plastic spacers don't get lost. They sit between the rail and the intake manifold, so when you remove the bolts they have a tendency to fall down and get stuck in the engine bay.

TIp #1, use vasaline to lubricate the injectors and the seals so you don't rupture the seals.

Replace those injector seals also. I mean, saving $10 and running a good chance of having an engine bay fire is not worthwhile IMO. Pressureize the system before starting the engine VIA the fuel pump jumper cable (reffer to your manual). Inspect the system thoroughly. Start the engine, letting it idle, and inspect once again. Run the car a few days, and inspect once more.

Yes, i'm anal and i've never had a car yet leave me stranded ;)

I just swapped out my 550 injectors for 660's and this was very simple.

The key is to relieve the fuel pressure as was pointed out. Disconnect the fuel pump, open gas cap, run car until it dies (very quick and may not even start). I followed the manual and some notes from www.plymouthlaser.com. Took less than an hour from start (gathering tools, etc.) to end even including tuning fuel trims with datalogger.

Just go over everything to make sure it's all hooked back up. I almost fired it up with the fuel return line unhooked:rolleyes:

It may take a few turns of the engine before it'll fire so keep cranking.

Can you use just regular motor oil?

Its pretty easy to do holmes.

Personaly I would remove the fuel lines from the ends of the fuel rail(make sure you have rags, and dont even think about smoking) keeping the feed and return lines then in an upward position, so they dont spill everywhere. Then I would go about moving the harness out of the way and anything else.
Then remove the 3 bolts, and spacers, the old injectors will pop out, replace the O-rings with new ones, and pop in the new injectors. Then reverse the process.

Shouldnt take more than 45min.

Honestly you dont need to unplug your fuel pump or even leave your fuel cap open. Just undo the three bolts, PUT A RAG BETWEEN THE INTAKE RUNNERS, so you dont loose your fuel rail spacers. Pull the fuel rail up take the injectors off, replace them and the all the seals given to you and your good to go.

Hey man, I'm on Hansen right now. Gonna be on ship for a few months in about three weeks though. Then off to the Philippines, Korea, Hong Kong for a few months. I was near Kadena last week for the Orion beerfest. Awesome time. I'm currently taking scuba diving classes right now so I'll be certified next week. :D

I have no car here and our free time is limited which sucks but an old friend lives here and he has a nice R33 which he takes out to the races and I'm supposed to join him soon. I cant wait.

I went to the bannana show two weeks ago. LOL. It's a sight to see alright.

Take a look at how the injectors are sitting and how tight the are that'll give you an idea of how they should sit make sure you give the O-rings a little oil so they slide into there seat on the fuel rail and not end up crooked and tearing them. Double them up if you want to be super safe.
