Hey, ive got a few questions for anybody that can help me. Im in the process of getting a 90' talon awd turbo but the turbo is shot so it needs to be replaced. Thats where i need the help, I want to get a big 16g for it but the car is basically all stock. I need to know what else im going to have to do before i can put a big 16g on to it. I know im going to need a boost gauge and boost controller, and ill have to rewire my fuel pump most likely too. Is there anything else that im going to need to do before I can put it on? Thanks for the help.

you will need a boost gauge....reguardless of turbo...and also the boost controller. I would rewire the FP as the VFAQ says and do the FP upgrade at the same time. This can all be done for under $200 if you do the install yourself and shop around (get NEW parts).

some places to look
www.autoperformanceengineering.com for the fuel pump

www.roadraceengineering.com for the gauges and many other things.

If you have money to blow then get the Greddy Peak/Hold boost gauge...it's nice!

The best setup for a Big 16 G is as follows;

1. Free Mods
2. Boost Gauge
3. Intake
4. Cat Back
5. UICP
6. Downpipe
7. Upgraded Fuel pump (or rewire the stock)
8. Better Spark Plug wires
9. EGT Gauge
10. Boost Control
11. A/F Control

The following are not a must but advised.
1. Larger Injectors 550cc+
2. FMIC

If I have left anything out, others will post. Also do a search. The is alot of info out there.

Forced Performance has a Big16G turbo package out for the 1G and 2G's right now. Something like 999 for a whole jimmy sack full of goodies. Well, maybe a jimmy sack isn't a good metaphor...more like a gym bag or a grocery sack or something. :santa: maybe a stocking!

When you buy your Big16G, make sure it the Exhaust Housing, Wastegate and Compressor Housing are ported. Porting of the Exhaust Housing and Wastegate will minimise the chance of boost creep.

What part of the compressor housing are you talking about ?? You don't want to port anything there with the exception of the outlet for a bigger J pipe, other than that, leave it alone. Don't forget about ported O2 sensor housing, 2g or EVO ;)
