That little plastic thing on top was what was holding it other than the clamps. I just pulled down and it came off. :D

Here's how I've been working on the car:

not fun!

Cool! You have... err- correction- had one of the "rare" silencer boxes they added to the lower IC on 95's only. Finally somebody posts clear pics of it !! It should be in a museum, but definately NOT on your car. :p

BTW, if you take out the filter/MAS/turbo intake you'll find it much easier to do up those top clamps of the lower IC where it attaches to the turbo. :scholar: :)

Answer to what that plastic thing is for.

There are federal requirements for pass/drive by vehicle noise. Some of this noise is created from the intake air. That box acts as a muffler to quiet that noise. Thats it. There are several vehicles with these mufflers on them. Now you know.;)

My dad doesn't know where the jack is. We looked, and we think his friend took it.

I have jackstands, just no jack.. figures.. lol.

I had to remove the same thing from my car, though it did not cause me any trouble that I can remember. Soooo long ago, one of my first mods. Tried to put a short piece of pipe there before I got the Greddy ICP kit. Blew the dam thing off three times, had to limp home, put box back on - no fun. Got the Greddy ICP kit that day.

I thought some Newbies could learn from this informative post, so hope some check this out.
