My "Service Engine Soon" light came on just 30 minutes after I finished installing my RFL Bov on my 2G. Is there something I did wrong when I installed the bov, like tighten any bolts too hard or put not enough washers in. Plus I didnt even use all the parts that came with the bov, like the hose and the two cylinders. I didnt use the hose because it didnt fit, and just reconnected the stock hose that connected to my stock bov. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!

How many washers are you using? If all you did was swap your stock bov out with the RFL...there shouldn't be any reason why the cel would come on. Did you reconnect the hose coming from the intake manifold to the bov?

...yeah i reconnected the hose to the top of the rfl...i am using 2 washers at stock boost. HELPPPP!! , and also do you think if I got my car checked up at the dealer i bought it at to see what was the problem, wouldnt that not be included in the warranty since it could of been caused by the aftermarket bov.

try pulling the code out of your computer to see what it's flagged... I think autozone might do it for free? i read that somewhere

if that's not an option, reset the ecu, see if it flags the code again, if not it was a fluke

if it flags the code again, reset the ecu and reinstall the stock BOV, see if it flags the code, if it does, bring it to satan and have them fix it, they wont' know you changed the bov that way

if it doesn't flag the code, reinstall the new bov, make sure to double check everything, if it flags the code again, I'd contact the manufacturer and ask them

...do you think before i take it to autozone should i reinstall the stock bov or just leave the aftermarket one in. Plus i cant even add more than 2 washers to my rfl. the screw at the top of the bov wont screw in with more than 2 washers in it. Am i doing something wrong or not doing something...

In that case you are doing something wrong.... if i tried i think i can fit 7-8 in there no problem (although i'm running 6 right now).

Make sure everything is connected. Did you just pull out the BOV or did do anything else?

i just went to autozone and they told me i needed to replace my throttle position sensor...i really dont understand how installing my bov got me this problem...ill have to go to carmax and have them fix it and hopefully everything will be covered by the warranty.

I think it's probably just a coincidence that your TPS went out after your BOV installation, but just to be sure, all the hoses and wires are reconnected correctectly aren't they?

If your going to have warrenty work done, I would strongly recommend you take out your new bov and put your stock one back in and try your hardest to make everything look as if it were untouched. Satan didn't get it's name by being a nice guy.

Best of luck :)
