Hey, what can I say I'll race anything. I got behind this escort on an entrance to an interstate this evening. I could hear is motor buzzing in front of me while I rode his ass with about 1 psi of boost. ON the highway, I duck out and pass him effortlessly. Then I see him giving the ole' flyby. I stand prepared in 4th gear and see an the BRIGHT GLOW of my orange LED water injection light which means my pump is not shutting off (because I ran out of fluid). This pretty much means i'm pumping air, not washer fluid. Mid WOT I reach down and shut my water pump off to keep from harming it. It was about this time I start pulling on the escort. Glancing at the logger I see MASSIVE knock sums and short shift to 5th to alleviate some stress on the motor. No dice, knock begins to climb again. Oh well, I prooved my point so I shut down.

Cliffnotes:

-I can burn 1/3 gallon of windshield washer fluid in one days worth of commuting fun. I need to lay off the boost :D

-I've taken water injection for granted. My car simply can't run without it anymore. It's painfully obvious how much it helps.

-Escorts aren't very impressive from a 60mph roll.

it's a fricking escort.
what did you expect.
Unless it's a cosworth....mmmmmm

nevermind I just read about your car.
Read the cliffs first time around

How much boost are you running? I can understand knock on pump gas, but maybe you ought to turn the boost down so you can run without water injection. Of course, if your running a boost level that makes your motor happy WITH water injection, it's pretty obvious that it won't be happy WITHOUT it. That's like running 18-20 psi on race gas and getting good logs, and then seeing how bad it is with the same PSI on pump gas. Turn the boost down if you're not using water injection :)

Nice kill, though :D
