A'pex'i

My buddy's running that exhaust on his RX-7... along with A'pex'i's boost controller, intakes, turbos, and intercooler....
Its hella fast!
It has a nice sound, but this is a rotary engine we're talking about. You should post again and ask the difference between a 2.5in VS a 3in exhaust on Spool, creep, and the like. I believe there are a few pros and cons... check it out.

get the N1, it's 3" and it sounds very nice and looks good too. I have one and I think it's awsome.

I agree completely, and yes the N1 does have a bit of an angle to it but not as much as the hks hiper not to mention it's actually larger then 3 inches right before the muffler :)

If I was you I would look at Thermal. If you are going to spend the money on an Apexi, you might as well spend the money on a polished ss exhaust without any resonators. I have owned both so I can speak from experience. The Apexi hangs down a lot further than the Thermal too. The Thermal doesn't hang at an angle though. (If that's what you like) Just my opinion.

ATR, but thats just my opinion ;)

Seriously though, I've heard its the loudest exhaust, and I would have to agree.

dunk is the loudest made by apexi. the n1 is a tad bit quiter. I really like my dunk. But they are the same except the muffler is different. Bends and welds are excellent. Thermal uses SS, apexi uses coated aluminum, i don't think you will notice any difference in preformance. I had a friend that had a thermal on his 2g TSI and he got rid of it to get a N1.

Gs-T is 2.75"
GSX is full 3"

I like apexi because it does not neck down, it uses a removeable neckdown adaper instead of welding it on. thermal and hks neckdown, Greddy just changed all there neckdowns to a Apexi style adaper for there evolutions.

The n1/dunk/worldsport doesn't rust  Its coated with some stuff that doesn't make it rust.

Damn newbies. Thermal isn't everything, just remember you get what you payfor, over time SS will discolor from the heat to a nasty looking yellow. No exhaust is perfect but I would go with a n1, a true 3" exhaust, why buy an exhaust you have to cut to fit a 3in downpipe to, or a 3in highflow cat when you can just buy the n1 and get the adapter. I use a 3in test pipe with the neck down you can only use the stock size. etc etc

Ummm... Newbie??? Just because my userid has "new" by it does not AT ALL mean I am a newbie. Quit assuming. I have HAD a N1, HKS, and Thermal. Yes, the N1 does have a titanium ??? coating on it but it will rust over time where it gets scratches due to it hanging .00045 inches from the ground at a LITTLE lower than stock height. All that have it know what I am talking about. Discoloration??? Who gives a sh*? about discoloration under your car??? At least it won't rust! ;) If that is the case your N1 is going to discolor at the canister too. Oh no, I better go by a carbon fiber muffler so it won't discolor. Just because you can't weld or don't have any experience doing it, don't rule it out. hehe. See what assuming does.

I like my N1, but its does show some surface rust around the welds. I fixed this my sparying high heat BBQ paint over the welds. The N1 sounds awesome, probably the quietest exhaust for a DSM since its got 2 resonators, but mind you its loud too when you want it to be.

The Thermal would be good too since its all SS and who cares if it discolors, its under the car, nobody is going to see it. All they see is the muffler and tip.

Another thing to remember the hiper doesnt stick out much at all,and your bumber will always be dirty with exhaust residue. A friend of mine showed me his hiper on a 98 gsx, that was his only complaint. I run the apexi n-1 it sticks out just enough to not have the bumber getting dirty and looks so tight with that angled look, makes me just want to lick it. :)

I have the apexi N1 3" cat-back. I LOVE IT, by far the best looking exhaust for the eclipse or talon. It angles sideways, but not to far, just enough to look bad ass from the rear. I have had no problems with height, although I am still on stock suspension. Just be carefull with any exhaust when lowering a car. I want to get the N1 downpipe with the evo 2.5" 02 housing.
