So what's the plan for this Saturday night? I might come down and visit since it's been so long. Is everyone going to that import show cause I can't afford it so I will just meet you guys at the spot and then plan from there.

john- i didn't mean to sound like I was bashing on ARD. ARD did a great job with the swap and I would recommend them to anyone. thanks for your input. hopefully after i get a fuel pump and turn up the boost i'll see the power i was expecting.

john-I have a question for you.
When ARD put the 1g intake manifold on, did they also install the 1g fuel rail w/1g fpr? or did they leave the 2g fuel rail w/2g fpr? The reason i ask is because the 2g fpr has a base fuel pressure of 43psi where the 1g fpr has a base fuel pressure of ~37psi. does it matter that i might have the 1g fpr with the 2g electronics?

I will race you man. At the track of course. Let me know whenever you are ready. I need a better timeslip anyway.

Timeslip talks, bullshit walks
Why does it have to be at the track? You have AWD dude. I already have a disadvantage there. Why don't we run on the streets, on everyday conditions? Fuck all that track setup bullshit. You make it sound like the track is the only place to race the car, and it really determines what your car runs. Well I think that's bullshit. Timeslips don't talk shit. Race me on the street, on the highway, whatever you want, 50-130mph. You beat me, then your car is faster. If I beat you, then your timeslips don't mean shit.

Wade is down. I have no problem. What do you say?

I didnt take it like that but it is good to hear. I drove your car around the lot to test the setup and make sure things ran smooth. The thing will be a fast car when you get a pump and turn it up.

I was working on something else when they swapped the intake but I believe you have to use the 1g rail and reg for the 1g head and intake. The electronics really dont have anything to do with the rail and how it works. The FP solenoid will work the same. All it does is cut the vacuum during startup to allow higher FP until it warms up. You dont have to worry about the loss of FP because of the 1g parts since you have a 1g setup now. The 2g's have it increased because they are higher compression.

Another thing that is noteworthy. By lowering the compression you increase the tuning window and the margin of error you can have. That means you can be farther off when you tune and it wont be hurt as fast. The higher compression you run the more accurate you have to be. By the same token you will also have to run slightly higher boost to achieve the same power.

Also, be careful who you listen to about tuning. I am sure they mean well but most people dont have a clue what it takes to tune a car. No one who wants to keep their car running for very long runs 22 psi on pump gas. You should see some of the heads we get in because super tuners detonate the hell out of their cars and end up pitting the valves so bad we have to replace them. Or they break the ring lands on the pistons. Houston has some of the worst gas in the country because of the emissions crap they put in the gas to help the air. It doesnt have the cooling capacity to run super high boost on standard pump gas. With a few more inexpensive mods your car should easily be mid to low 12's on pump gas.

Well at the track it is safer. Also it eliminates the argument that someone jumped first or someone wasnt ready. I understand the traction theory since I am FWD also but with his 60' times you really shouldnt be too far from him even from a dead stop. Most FWD can get 2.1 or so without too much problem. Plus if you make even just the same amount of power you should eat him up in the last 1/8th because of his drivetrain loss and extra weight. But, if you still have to run on the street, best of luck. GO FWD!!

This will be my last post to you because I think it's going nowhere. Like I said "The arguement moot" and we are going in circles. I hate to do this because it does not seem like you will get it. You may think I am motivated to race you. I dont give a shit if I win or lose. Even if I win, it doesnt prove anything. I wont do it because it's a waste of my f*cking time. I'll race you at the track because I need that timeslip. Not to beat you. Why do I care if my car is faster than yours? Or your car is faster than mine? What do I have to prove? Just for my ego? No man, grow up. Hey, guess how many guys want to race John Shepherd? He must be really busy if someone just jump in and say, your timeslips dont mean shit. I will beat you on the street

And also 50-130mph?

Hmmm...

I'm still watching and waiting. I was hoping the MR2 would show up last night to run my friend but I guess he had to go home(MR2).

Slowboy, I didn't even recognize you. How's the laser?

Anyone care to use their logger on my car? I would like to see whats going on, hehe. I might only have a couple launches left in the clutch so I want to make them some good runs. :)

What up guys! EOS is in the house!!!!!!

Well I say we settle this little conflic of intrest and see what it's going to take to get an 11s DSM timeslip out of somebody in Houston.

Ciro is definetly close and probably is atainable with some small additions. Way to go Ciro!

Jw is definetly there but wants to be easy without breaking shit I agree that cost $$$$$$$! why not invest some initial investment on some final touches to get you there without straining the shit outta your car and breaking shit witch cost you more in the long run! Right?

And Wade, oh boy what do i say here, lol, that car pulls really mean on the street from a roll but definetly needs some traction for that hole shot, also can still do a few things to get him where he wants to go mid 12s right? lol j/k

So many other people are so close to having some good times too like Mike tribal if he'll ever get that car running and not blowing oil. lol Mike try to retourque all the shit again now that you have ran the car for some ample time. I'm going to try to come give you a hand as soon as i can maybe this weekend are you off? call me! I know there are allot of cars that will be representing H-town if we ever get the Texas DSM Shootout.

Last Sat night at the spot was too good! If you missed it you missed it. The spot is getting really popular again I guess we had quite a few DSM's at the spot last weekend. Josh is the Banshee allright?

Well guys see you on the EOS board witch I'm sure will be busy tomorrow and if your going to the Expo this sat. call me Tristrum, Angel, Me, My wife and Jon are all planning on getting together to cruise over and touch a skyline:eek: lol The more the merrier right?

L8r:cool:

Hell yeah !!!! Imagine hauling ass with AC !!!!:D
Haha that's classic. A new M3 would be nice.

JW, if you don't wanna run, then that's cool. Like I said before, I apologize if what I've said rubbed you the wrong way, I didn't mean anything by it. It was friendly as can be.

Anyway, my dude is coming to get the car next week.. so I have a few choices on what to get. The pros and cons of each one:

Supra - bad ass car, love the way it looks, drives, nothing bad at all. Too pricey, cause can't get a loan for it for a good amount of time.
350Z - This car is sexy. It would get all the ladies. But I'm not too found of the powertrain. I mean it's respectable for NA, but I would like this to be turbo. And it's $30k.
LS1 - Solid motor, but the interior sucks. But hey, I might be able to haul ass and use AC :D , to say the least.
Lancer Evo - Another 4g63, what else can I say! If I can get this car, the first thing I would do is drop the cats and throw on a MBC. Man, talk about 12s already. The thing is, when it first comes out, I'll either have to wait or it'll be overpriced.. or even both. And we still don't know the pricing on it yet.
GTi - I love German Engineering. I've got respect for VW's, they can be made fast for pretty damn cheap as well. There's just not that broad of a market as far as turbo upgrades go. They all run for around $4k and you don't even get a FMIC.
WRX - Beautiful car, but the thing is the tranny's suck just as much as us. But they're $24k! For that price, I would rather get a LS1. And turbo upgrades are pricey on these cars too.

What do you guys think?
