Please don't think Erik is the guinea pig. He may be the first that subscribes to this board but certainly is not the first to try out the technology either with ours or others that are available. I am not selling here so please don't take it that way. Just don't want anyone to think no one has tried this yet. We have actually gotten repeat and referal customers.

This will be the first kit in a DSM that posts here which will be nice to see his results. There are however other DSMs with it already installed.

Good luck Erik and let us know if you need any help.;)
Here we go again. I figured you would show up. How about this. Since YOU are the biggest area of contention here, you let the "locals" do our testing, when the results are out, you comment. Until then stay out of it. I'm not saying that to be rude, but we are waiting for real results from someone WE trust because we didn't like your practices here on the forum.

Don't think all the rude things you said about DSMTalk have been forgotten. You insulted us straight out and said you didn't need us and really didn't care what we thought. That was pretty crappy.

If chris would bring my kit to work I would get some data on it. ;)
I should be able to get current orders done this weekend and have something for you this coming week. Kinda REAL busy now with the business we are getting plus the Cross Country Move going on in 3 weeks;)

Get your head out of the DSM toilet! LOL
After 12+ years with my '90, its kind of hard to "teach an old dog new tricks" ;) What can I say, Jay...

You are not trying to get the old SE-R vs DSM rivalry going now, are you- which side would you be on?

BTW, thanks for clarifying on the Aquamist- That's what I thought you ran. You used to run .7mm nozzle, right? Is that still the case? Or is the car sold?

The propane doesn't use a *jet* like water injection or Nitrous. It just uses a fitting that lets the gas flow freely into the intake track from the pressurized line. I have mine plumbed into the beginning of the TB elbow about 7 inches from the throttle body. PS. my TB elbow is home made and a little longer than the stocker.

Where did you mount the nozzle if that is the way it is dispensed? Is it on the TB elbow?

Get your head out of the DSM toilet! LOL This was with my SE-R. No knock counts no DSM related stuff. :D The car was tested with what's called a Consult. Think of it as a factory programmer/data logger/diagnoser the dealership uses to work on the Nissan ECU
Do you work at a Nisan dealer? Consults are not easy (or cheap)to come by. I work for a Nissan dealer and was just wondering.

ON TOPIC - I am glad to finally see one of our board members testing this kit out. I am condisering a propane kit in the future, and will find this thread most useful.

Well I don't work there buy my neighbor and fellow gear head is a 15 year Nissan Tech. Mike Kojima (SCC) owns one and he also had his at the SE-R National Convention. Some of the hard core guys have them. ;)

Joe: Yes is was the .7mm jet, and I no longer have the car. :( I sold it to put the cash towards my house.

I am not sure if JayC's kit is available yet.

The turboford board was talking about propane in July when the first systems were about to ship, but as of 2 days ago no system review. Why?
I have no clue why either? Last time I heard from them they were almost ready to ship... JayC and company are meticulous, so I imagine it is something in the details!

They have a "pre-order" list... not sure if it is full or what?

The JayC kit is going to be nice. It's more money but if you are in the market to spend that extra money it will be worth it. I beleive he is putting Electroics into it and making it dash adjustable.

I know it's not a DSM but here are some good hard numbers from a Single turbo Supra. I beleive it's a single T-78

My best time of the day was with 112 octane and propane injection was 11.86 @ 127 MPH @ 28PSI.
Try again. Thanks for the info, but it's still flawed data IMO.

If you are going to run race fuel...what's the point?

In regards to his "comparison" saying "I ran this, the other guys ran that" when we don't know squat about the "other guys" is rediculous.

What I want to see is back to back runs on pump gas without propane and with propane, and/or a back to back dyno run, and/or back to back testing with a comparable water injections system.

THAT is useful data.

It also sounds like that guy didn't have sufficient time to tune. I don't know about you guys, but it takes weeks, even months for me to tweak things EXACTLY the way I want them. Actually, every day requires a slightly different tune. He wasn't even in the ballpark going to the track with only 90 mph traps.

He was tuned fine before he installed propane. Once he installed propane he had to start backing out fuel so it was not running so rich. His first run was on his normal tune and propane which ran rich as he stated yeilding slow traps.

Thats what I was eluding to, tuning with the propane.

i'm wondering what the safety concerns are to having a propane tank bolted into your car and still used as a daily driver...
propane tanks are ridiculouly over-engineered

gas tanks are more dangerous.

the only thing id recommend is when you get the opv tanks, run a tube from the op valve to the outside of your car, so when you park in the hot sun and the propane expands in the tank and opens it it doesnt go into the cabin.

Just an update to let you guys know that I am not done with the propane. I have swapped to a new turbo and added a few things. I am going to get the car tuned without the propane first and then retune to get some more results.

Ok guys just thought I'd anwser some of your questions.

First the car was tuned without propane on dyno(A/F-11.3 WOT,17PSI, 509RWHP on 93 only). I did the propane instal 3 hours before I had to be at the track so I didn't tune it at all.
At the track I ran 17 PSI with "no propane" and got 12.8@119 on the first run.2nd run netted a 13.1@118 These were back to back runs. No cool down at all since we had the track to ourselves(13 people), I got my slip and pulled around for another pass.
I then turn on the propane and netted my big 92MPH. I was way to rich. After leaning out my fuel abit no the next couple passes ,to comp for the propane, I was able to run the 123 trap's.
I didn't run race gas until my traps stopped going up on propane and 93. Without a WB o2 I wasn't going to run 2bar on good faith and 93 octaneI have run 2bar on race gas though so...

The other guys cars(SUPRAS) were BPU cars that run 12.00's @ about 113-119 on cooler days. Most were running poor due to the 90 degree heat and back to back runs. Some ran as low as 100, but the median was 110. All were short though of the upper teens(117-119). I was just infering that the heat had alot to do with how the cars were running and the propane helped cool things off for me.

I have installed a Wideband o2 in my car and am tuning the propane. 22 psi so far and super rich(10.00A/F)

Hope this clears some info up.
