hey everyone I have been looking all over the internet for the kind of gauges I wanted but everyone was tooo danged expensive or just didnt look right so I scanned my gauges in and vuala! I can now do just about anything I want with my gauges. I will post some highers resolution pics on my webpage and with all the gauges in the cluster on my web page tomorrow so anyone who wants them can download em and print them off. tell me what you guys think would look kool too. the gauges were off my 1991 eagle talon tsi. I erased the built in boost gauge because it sux and now I can make the RPM limit look like it can go to 10K !! ha ha lol

have fun

Do you plan to make a complete set in each color? How well does the lightin show through the paper? Would love to see a set like the blue swirly one, except in red. :D How did you create the color patterns and all (what program)?

I plan on posting a few different desings in complete sets. I just puleld the gauges off tonight so I am just getting started:D When I scanned the pics into my computer the file was 56mb cause the resolution was so high. I may have gone a little overboard but thats ok. I have not printed any out yet but I would put the gauges on a cd and take the cd and my original gauges to a photo shop and have them printed out to match the size of my stock gauges. the program I am using is MIcrosoft Picture It Publishing platnum 2000 to edit the gauges. Its teh BEST photo program I have ever used and can do just about anything its got features that nothign else has its great. but after I finish installing my gauges I will let everyone know how it turns out. (I should be finished by sunday)

how does it look in the car? will light go threw it? could you send me a pic? id like some i think....
These things can look how ever I want them to look! my talon is black and I plan on accenting the interior with red and black (I like white and red but the white gets too dirty) so I will make my gauges with probaly the red/black swirl.

I have not tested it yet but I should have it done by sunday. the only prob is the entire upper end of my engine is off so I cant turn the power on so now I need to figure a way to hotwire the lights with a 12v battery.

ok guys I finished with my first set! the pics on the webpage lost some quality for some reason but they should still look fine. I would reccomend putting them on a disk and taking them to a proffesional photography shop and have them printed out there for better quality it should only cost $5. if anyone prints out and installs these b4 I do please fill us in! and tell us what kind of paper and so on and so forth.

They look good. I think I'm just going to keep mine white though. I'm going to work on changing the backlighting or getting reverse indiglo.

Have you checked to see that you can light up the 9 and 10 on the rpm?

Boy.... you didn't scan thous gauges you got the Guages.gif file.... I've used a bunch and there's a way to tell you used that file ;)

When you find that you can't get the light to difue well, come talk to me ;)

Have you tried this before? Does the light not show through? What if you printed it on thin paper? Maybe even sketch paper (if you can get the printer to print on it)?
