So last night I filled the tank full of some home brew race gas(1gallon of xlylene, 10 gallons of chevron 91) and cranked up the boost. I decided I wanted to race my friend with a slow civic just to show him how fast my car is now that its got some modds on it(the last time we raced I didn't have my exhaust, or the race gas, and pulled 9-10 cars on him to 60). The first race we both had 2 people in the car and I purposley let him get a huge head start(about 7 cars) then I expected to just reel him in, but I couln't even catch him untill 70. Then we raced from a light up a hill, and I got a realy good launch and pulled 10-11 cars on him by 70(he had a total of 2 people in the car, and I had 3). then the third time we raced we lined up at a stop light and my friend charles was the flagger. I only got a halfassed launch(beacuse I didn't have long enough to power break) and I could only put about 1 car on him to 60. I don't know, but I expected a lot more out of my talon even with a shitty launch. His modds are very minimal(CAI, cam gear, cut off muffler) and I was running every thing in my sig plus the t-too small @19 psi on the race gas. I don't know maybe my car was having a bad day, but I felt like a rice boy trying to make excuses for my car even though I won. :(
 
Denso Iridum plugs...

Those are no good...
Replace them with a set of NGK BPR7-ES plugs and gap them to 0.030 for up to 16psi of boost. BTW, I didn't saw a fuel pump rewire in your mods...:( No point in running 19 psi in there with no fuel to back up that psi level...

The T-25 is maxed at the 16-17 psi level, so take that into account next time you race...

I just pulled a set of the NGK's out of my car and replaced them with the denso's. I wanted a plug that would last longer(the ngk's only lasted about 10,000mi). I may go back to NGK's if my car keeps performing like it is. My boost is actualy set to about 17 psi(it spikes to 19, then falls off to 17) I just figured that I wouln't need a fuel pump rewire if I was on race gas. I need to go do some more tuning with my pocket logger, and see what the hell is going on. I think I may have killed the t-too small finaly, this moring it sounded like the bearings were going out in it. so maby there is a good excuse. Time to buy an AGP LR2:D

sounds like it is inconsistent. its like my car if you dont get a good launch or if you go from like 5mph i cant catch slow ass cars for shit until halfway through 2. i think i agree with turbo. turn it down to like 15 or so and try it again.

also do the fuel pump rewire. my friend did it in his talon and you can feel the difference. it does'nt stutter like its not getting enough gas.

Well, the the denso's might not make my car any faster but it shure idles better now than it did with the NGK's. I Just can't make up my mind on weather I want to just sell my talon and buy somthing else, or modd out my talon. Talonator hit the nail on the head, my car is very inconsistant. I've pulled 0-60 in 6.3 sec before, but on that night the best run that I data logged was a horibal 8.2 seconds. I don't know what could cause my car to change that much but it does(some days I can't even do 0-60 in less than 9.5 seconds). I think it may be my turbo but i'm not sure.
 
I have the denso's and they are running very good so far :)

to tell the truth I haven't checked, I don't have a light in my boost gauge, and most of the time I race its at night. I think I'm just going to get read of my talon and start over with a 1g. I saw one on the trader listed in ogden. Its a 92 TSi AWD w/cyclone swap, big 16g, web cams and all the other goodies for 4100. I'm just afraide I know the guy who is selling it, and that car has a blown turbo.
 
I haven;t lost to an eclispe yet (Does it count when I have a different motor in my car...... :p

Just joking. He shouldn't be near you @ all if he is in a civic DX. turn your boost down its probably hurting your performance. You should be killing him.

Ya, I allready turned it down. I guess my W/G is going out, beacus now it won't hold crap for boost(it will spike to 15, then it goes all the way back down to 9 by redline). I did some more tweaking yesterday(put on a catch can, cleaned out my I/C, cleaned out all my intake piping) and I think I might have had a boost leak so I made sure all the clamps were extra snug when I put it all back to togther. I Proably just heat soaked everything when I raced him the last time, but I'm definatly going to have to get a new turbo, shift kit, and maby and upgraded I/C and challange him to a re-match.
 
He won't even be worth it. If it is stock DX with bolt ons (Hell even with nitrous) you should murder him

No, thats normal for the boost to taper off several psi by redline. The t-25 loses almost all efficiency close to 6000rpm and above.

Well, my car used to only loose 2 psi by redline(set at 13, it would go back down to 11 by red line) now it jumps to 15, then falls off down to 9 very quickly(say I get 15 at 3000 rpms, it back down to 9 by 4000rpms). maby I've just got a spikey MBC, I don't know. but my turbo is still making funnie sounds during pre spool(from about 5" of vac, to about 0 Psi it makes a weird sound thats sounds kindof like bad berrings, but not realy. I wish some one could tell me what the hell it is, beacuse its starting to bug the shit out of me).
 
Hmmm, no idea then. How many miles are on the turbo?
