awdboost, what was your pressure at before you turned it down to 43 psi?

ok. here's the latest. i checked w/ my credit card co. and got charged by charged air for a fpr last week. yet still, no tracking #,
no return phone calls, no e-mails. WTF. i'm giving it another week.
if no fpr then, i'll have my credit card co. dispute the charge. just off the phone w/ charged air (actually spoke w/ a human). they told me it was shipped last thurs. and will be at my door step tomorrow. i'll let you know if i recieve it or not.

I know I own a 1g, so technically I'm hijacking the thread here, but Tony was a little unresponsive at first, but after a phone call, the package was shipped, and arrived in 3 days...not bad. don't worry y'all, he is not a "scammer" or anything of that nature, just busy probably. Now to install;)

placed an order 2 days ago online w/ CC. status showed "Q" (queued). called him literally 2 minutes ago, gave him my order id #, said it should go out today.

ALSO: the fuel fitting comes with the AFPRs and are in the box, he said the first few were sent out without regulators but everything is cool now. everything looks on the up and up, just takes a lil friendly phone call reminder!

to anyone that is wanting the afpr, why dont you just get a 1G fuel rail and replace your 2G fuel rail with it? That will allow you to run the 1G afpr on your 2G.

Because the 2G one is out and you do not need to go this route anymore. I have one in my hand. Just no return line fitting so I cannot install it

Also, it seems to not completely clear the strut bar without some mods

Anyhow, good to finally have it after almost 1 year of waiting, anyway.

I can't turn down the pressure down past 43 the base. But to have it work right I need to turn the base up to 50 so when I hook up the vacume line it will go to 43. But if you set the base to 43 when you plug in the vacume line it will not drop and sit there untill you reach 1 psi and then it start to raise. But before this, my psi was set at around 60 plus. The one thing I have see that is a problem is the return line on a 2G is 1/4 and 5/16 on a 1G. Charged air did account for the size so the reg will not work to bump it down more. Unless you don't have a 255HP walbro. Rewired.

I received mine today. I think Tony got confused over the conversionation we had and sent me a 1g one. I could really care less because I have a 1g rail sitting around.. I'm guessing this is the old style 1G one, because it does not have a gauge port. No biggy, at least I got one.. I won't be able to play with it yet, because I'm in the middle of a 6 bolt conversion to my 2g..

CAS 2g Regulator

Mine cleared the strut tower with no problem.

Also regarding your base pressure, I have a 255lph intank & a second pump pulling from a cell under boost & have no problems lowering my base pressure to 33psi.

Your problem is probably with the fitting that you have on the return. You put a 90' brass fitting. What is the hole size on that fitting?

I put a 1/8 pipe to #6 fitting on the regulator. Then I ran it to the return line.

If you're using the stock return line, you need to have a small hose made up that has a #6 swivel on one side & a short extension to the factory line. We did a friends car & the #6 cost $5.00 & the hose $6.00. His base goes below 30psi with a stock pump.

I'm sure the regulator doesn't come with fittings, because everybody wants something different.

What do you expect them to do, include a 90' fitting, a #6 fitting, and straight fitting, etc...

I personally think mine is pretty slick, how they got everything to work out.

good luck.

BTW, the 1G without the gauge fitting is the newer design. The gauge fitting was discontinued because torque happy 1G owners were overtightening them.

Who are you 10sec2G. Not that I don't believe you but you only have 4 post on this site. So if I find it hard for me to beleive you then sorry. But I'm going to try this straight fitting and make the 1/4 return line bigger so that it fits and see if that help. My question is did you replace all of your return line or just the line from and to the hard line in the engine bay? And Yes I do want them to include a fitting. Why would you include a fitting for the fuel pressure gauge, but not include a stupid 2 dollar fitting. But that just me. Just my 2 Cents. :)

I ordered a AN4 to NPT adapter (straight)
and then using one of these

http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/EPP/EPPHE/709145.html

to achieve a smooth 90 degree turn to the return line.

Unfortunately there is no AN6 -> 1/4" and you have to go with AN4->1/4"

There is no reason not to include a fitting. Most of us who are installing one is running a stock return setup. IF someone were running a custom AN fuel return, it's pretty obvious they could have bolted on a universal regulator long time ago.

I think your going to have the same problem as me if you running the Walbro 255 HP. What I think we need to do is order a 1/8 ntp to a 1/4 straight. I think the 90 degree bend my be too small, Then extend the return fuel line so it fits. I'm going to try this today. I'll give an update when I'm done doing it. Let me know if everything works for you.

well, its friday night and haven't seen any fpr. i swear CAS has the worst customer service. how they manage to stay in business, i'll never know. i'm calling my credit card co. on monday to dispute the charge. i vow never to purchase from CAS/ spoolinup ever again. they can take their afpr and sick it up their asses.

First off, Calm down, you will get the reg. I know It's fustrating to have this happen.

Second of all, I put the straight fitting on it and it knock it down to 40 psi is now the lowest it goes. I going to try to un hard wire my fuel pump and see if that will help out. But There is a trick to making you return line longer. just bend the hard line over so that it faces the reg and not the firewall. It gave me pleanty so that I could put a staight fitting on the reg. I still don't understand why they don't offer the 1.50 dollar fitting.

I might have missed something, but why are you trying to get the base pressure lower than stock?
