Hey guys, I'm the one that ran Frank. His car is pretty quick, and my car is a POS. I'm crankwalking again, I've been crankwalking for awhile now, but I kept changing the thrust bearing (man what a damn good mod).
Anyway, a few posts back, I thought my clutch was slipping. It slips here and there, not all the time though, but recently it's getting worse. I took it to my mechanic and he said it's cause the crank is moving alot more now, and sometimes it'll cause the clutch not to grab fully, and sometimes it will. Also, the clutch has some wear on it, and that I should stop racing and give the car a break.
Right after I left the shop I raced Frank. Other than spinning out in 2nd, the shift to 3rd was horrible but I couldn't notice it since I thought I had my 300lbs friend in the car was the problem. But then I kept leaning out in 3rd, that's why I kept letting off. Frank was on 104 octane, and he had the weight advantage over me, since a 1g AWD weighs a little over 2800lbs, 2g FWD weighs a little over 3100, I weigh 220, my friend weighs 280. Frank and his friend probably weighed 300. Time to gut the car, hehe.
Also, if you guys are thinking that I'm just making up some BS excuse about my clutch slipping, ask Frank about the RX-7 he ran. Off the line, even with his AWD advantage, he lost to that RX-7 by about 2-3 cars (he did give the RX-7 the go from the line though). I ran that same RX-7 from a 30mph roll, and even though I spun all through second, he got me by like 3/4's of a car in the middle of fourth.
And for the record, Frank beat the shit out of me off the line. All the other times from a roll, I would jump ahead 1-2 cars and then the shift to 3rd he would pull a little, then I let off due to lean-age. It's confirmed now that my clutch is gone. We put a 50 shot of nitrous on it and turned down the boost this past weekend, and that shit didn't go anywhere. Just sat there and revved. Good thing it rained, so I wasn't all that depressed. I'm saving up for a 6 bolt now
Another thing, I don't know why my friend was talking mad shit. I told him to tone that shit down, and I didn't much want to race that night due to my clutch. That's why for those of you who were there, I didn't have my car the first time I was there, my friends convinced me since I was doing a motor swap might as well have some fun with the old motor. So I went to get it, and my friend's dumbass started talking all kinds of shit.
