Hooray hooray, I finally got my GT25/28 to replace my dead T25. Dealing with AGP was great as far as response time (Although I think the staff likes to answer their e-mail very late in the evening), but unfortunately, they had no credit card reader at the time (apparently they're going to be getting one at the end of the month), so I had to use paypal. After some difficulties with Paypal, I ordered, and got my turbo last friday. To their reccomendations, I got a ported O2 housing and
The GT25 is a kind of funny turbo, as it's pretty much the same bolt on as the T25. Installation was easy for a turbo and I had no major problems. Stripped out a compression fitting, but that's all set now.
Performance: I finally got my 3 inch downpipe on and the performance is basically spot on lowend wise @ stock boost on the GT25/28 as it was when I was spiking my T25 at around 1.6 bar. I'd crank up the boost to about 1.1 bar (around 16 or so psi, as I'm still on stock SMIC/Fuelsystem) but I've had some problems. More on that later.
The turbo has plenty of top end, but seems to be creeping just a bit when you get into the upper (ie: Greater than 5k rpm) rev range. It only moves around .2 bar to redline, with my ported O2 and N1 turbo back. It's nice having a turbo that I can run to redline.
Spoolup is just about spot on, if only 100 RPM later or so.
I was told the good range for these turbo's is around 18-23 (around 1.5 bar) psi, but it will start chugging out top end wise around 25 psi. I was told the flow rates were around Big 16G rates, but unfortunately at the moment, I can't test that right now. I'd love to.
So, if you're not sure if you want to wait all that time for a FP Big T28, I'd suggest this turbo. They don't have it on their site, so give them a yell and they'll quote you.

Mini reviews:
RRE Ported O2 housing - Nice port work, better job than I'd ever do, cheap price. If you think you can port as well as these guys, go right ahead, but I'm lazy and would rather not fuck up my cores.
RRE Manual Boost Controller - Complete and absolute shit. I've been trying to work with this for about five days now and I've gotten nowhere, finally trying to pull the fucker apart and just hosing it up like some other MBC. Unreadable installation instructions make this something that you should skip. My Greddy gauges were easier to figure out in Japanese (I can read some of it, but not that much kanji). Way too expensive. It seems to hold stock boost okay, but meh, I really personally don't enjoy stopping on "testing roads" around here so I can try to wring out more boost.
That was 60 bucks I could've spent on a Greddy Profec B. Damn.
