I hope so, Id want something to compensate for 100 mph trap speeds.....can you say 1g with intake and free mods.....and autos no excuse....

Buschur racing is running a sale on new unported 7cm Turbine housings for $140, Great Deal!!

I got a question, how do you think a 14b would react to having a 7cm turbine housing on it? My turbine housing is cracked badly and I dont wanna upgrade the turbo just yet, your thoughts?

i would like to know that also, cuz my 14b is cracked like a mofo at the wastegate and id buy the one from buschur if its only 140 bux thats cheap! will a 7cm housing go right on the 14b and what kinda diff would it make

I never got around to trying htat, but I can say the 7cm made a noticeable diference over the 6cm on a small 16g I borrowed. IT was a small difference, but noticeable. I imagine the difference would be a little smaller with a 14b though since it moves less air than 16g, so there is less to evacuate. I didnt really feel any increased lag on the 16g, and I imagine the 14b would react the same way.

Well I just ordered the 7cm turbine housing from Buschur Racing. Came to $147 Shipped.

I asked Tym about the 14b w/ the 7cm and he said that they dont normally reccomend doing that, they like to match everything up right off the bat. He said it will probably increase the lag a little bit. But I said that in the future I am going to upgrade to a B16G and so I'll just have to buy the cartrage. He said I should be ok with it then.

I wont be able to give details for awhile cause Im at college right now and I dont know when I'll have the time to put it on, just couldnt pass up the offer.

My big 16g and 6cm pulls hard to 7k, and spools up like the stock 14b did, maybe a little faster to max boost due to the bigger compressor wheel.

i have a small 16g with a 7cm exhaust housing. i feel lucky to have this combination, but i was wondering if it's a good idea to upgrade the compressor side with a big 16g or a 20g compressor side. or wont you notice much difference. i'm kinda uneducated on the whole turbo thing. and also. if the big 16g compressor wheel is larger. how will the wheel fit into the exhaust housing? it seems like a tight fit already ( im dumb sorry!! ):p

Can a 6cm housing be machined to a 7cm by a shop? If so I could save alot of money...thanks.

Actually, I recommended a Small 16G with 6cm housing. On my old car, that spooled up as good as the 14B. If you have problems with cracking, it's not related to the 16G.

I ran a 12.09@112 with the 6 cm. When I switched to the 7 cm, I picked up less than 1 mph.

A good setup for spool-up and part-throttle low-end torque or for autocrossing would be a 2.3 stroker motor with the small 16g/6cm with smaller than usual 2" IC piping.

With 16G's - big and small is actually old and new. The small is the newer style, designed for better spool-up. I really think the difference is only about 10 HP.

Once other concern I possibly had was whether or not my 6cm housing would hold up and not crack to pieces from the additional backpressure and heat generated at higher rpm's. Is there anyone out there that has been using either a "small" or BIG 16G with a 6cm housing for a while that could comment on the housings longevity?

Thanks

Longevity is fine.

The exh housing cracking has to do with how many miles are on it and how high the EGT's have been. The more boost and the leaner the A/F - the higher the EGT - the more likely a housing with 100k miles will crack!!

They all crack a little over time.

That is the downside of the 6 cm - they are all used! Unless you want to get a whole 14B from the dealer!
