i talk to the place that did that car, he said it would cost 12- 15 thousand to do thoses doors. and that doesn't includes to to paint the doors over. the paint on that car costed 8000 and the air ride costed 5000. now thats alot of money, and that car is only a gs. the place that did that car is in delawere but i lost ther web page address.

I'd have to agree with widebody that the doors are not that great up close, cause I too saw it at NOPI last year. It seriously looks like a chop job. Yea it gets alot of looks but when you take a gander inside and at the whole set up, it really isn't great work. The welds are uneven and the cutting could have been better too. And the air cylinder in view which to me looks gaudy. But the idea is awesome and definetly unique.

It could be easliy done with the compressed struts. Just like the ones in your hatch. That is what REAL lamborghini's use. But the only consideration is the angle at which the strut needs to lift. I've went over this idea and came up with 2 possible ways to do these doors. I think I would lighten up the doors by cutting some holes on the inside and any other way possible. But I don't have the time to endure such a project right now, cause of this deployment were about to go on.

The doors are actually pushed away from the car with air actuators and then raised and then lowered and pulled back in. If you look at the picture at the top of the page you can see the rod on the rear of the door jamb. The door comes down and sits on that rod and the cylinder pulls the door in snug.

What a waste of money, he could have slapped a turbo kit on that GS instead of having some gay looking doors.

Blazin - It is his car... Respect should be given for the sweat involved to modify a car in any way. Having your own opinion is great... but looks like being a show car is his thing, and I bet if he would have just slapped a turbo kit on he definetly wouldn't be getting this recognition from people. It's one thing to say in your own opinion you would never do it and you would rather spend your money in "X" products. But there is no need to call someones sweat and determination "gay". My $.02

I think those doors at phat. I am not as down with the suicide doors, even though they are fresh! Hey Widebody, original ideas? How bout some 'mini-van' sliding doors. They just slide out similar to vans. The whole front end lifting foward sounds great! We just had a mercedes clk 450 er some number to that effect. It was shweet. Nice 2 door coupe. Not that little slk kompressor. Anyways, its interior was sexy! It had (which I have only seen in old furniture, wood paneling) wood dash, but the wood was black. It was fake wood, but it was sweet! So black and dark grey wood. how bout flames shooting out the back.

This reminds me of a story. READ on if you wanna hear. My grandpa was tellin me that when he was younger (in the good ol days) he got rid of tail-gaiters by roasting them. He would have had a set-up where he had spark plugs hooked in his tail pipes. If he got a tailer, he would shut off the engine, give it gas, and fire it up and rev it. Something to that extent. Then a loud PAP! would blow, and flames would fly out like 15 feet! now this is true, cause he does not make crap up.

Come on guys we are speed demons not rice cookers. Take the money you would drop on some custom freakin doors and turn your POS into a 10 second road car. Damn the paint and bring on the Ferrari's!!!!

Hey i'm not a ricer just a bodyman, and if my shop ever slows down enough to breath for a few i'm do'in gullwigs. Did em on my last car and i will be doing them on this one. By the way how do you post a pic? I can put one up of my last car.
