before anybody says get a new one, this is a TEMPORARY fix for about a month or so until i get a new one. i just wanted to know if anyone tried this and if the JB would hold up to the heat.

my cousin witha 92 talon did it to his car, he welded it temporary with his welder , he had cracks goin all the way through. he only had it welded for 6 days and then bought a new manifold, so i am pretty sure it iwll last a week, but i dontknow if it will last longer than that.

It might hold up, but I doubt it'll make it a week. JB weld is gods gift to people too lazy to actually weld, but it's not a miracle worker. The constant heating and cooling of the manifold, with the different expansion characteristics of the JB weld will crack it in no time.

I think JB Weld is only good up to about 600F or so.

DO NOT PUT JB WELD ON YOUR EXHAUST MANIFOLD!!!!

Sorry, but I'm just trying to save you from having to go through what we went through.

Me and my buddy Rich tried this on his horribly cracked manifold. We let it dry blah blah. It worked great until the manifold got up to normal temp. After that, it STUNK to high heaven. Fortunately all the JB weld burned off pretty quick, so the nasty smell didn't last too long.

If you don't mind a smell 100 times worse than the smell of burning hair, go right ahead and try it. Otherwise, I wouldn't reccomend it.

if you have the manifold off your car a welding shop can do it up for you "good enough" for about $20. Its not too hard to weld cast, just make sure they drill holes at the end of each crack to keep them from spreading before its welded.
