Oh man, this is gonna be long..so be prepared.
To start off:
My mods: stock except free mods and ACT2600
His mods: JDM ITR motor/tranny, CAI, Exhaust (cant remember manufacturer)
For some of you that remember "Nameless" on this board signing up and introducing himself about a week ago, well he got his tranny and motor in and we finally got a race. He was able to get off work 30 minutes early, same time as me so we could catch a race after work. We stopped by the gas station, but the pumps were all shut down! AHH so I knew we had to race somewehre close by, but were in the middle of downtown in a populated city.
Decided we'd cruise a nearby street with his radar detector and see how it goes from their. Now originaly we planned to roll through the street once and make sure it was clear, but by time we got halfway through ( I was following him) it was way to empty to pass up. So i quickly sped up and got next to him. We had predetermined to raced from a 30mph roll just for now, because I didnt want to abuse my tranny too much for the night. Got up to 25mph in 3rd gear, downshifted to 2nd and I heard him honk.....1.......2.......HONK--- I mash the pedal to the floor and breeze through 2nd a little too fast almost, NOONE is pulling away (as I think to myself WTF?) Hard shift to 3rd at redline... turbo is still pulling like a champ...shift to 4th and DEAD FREAKING EVEN! Run 4th to about 80mph and hit the brakes...here's where it gets intense..
From the corner of my eye i see his car changing lanes..but into oncoming lanes, I just assumed he didnt want to get to close to me (and the oncoming lane was completely open) But as I notice him swerving more and more I realize something is wrong. I swerve back into my lane and straighten out and glance back over at the Hatch. Next thing I know his rear end whips out as if he pulled the E-Brake ( I assumed he pulled it, so I started laughing wondering what the hell he was doing) He ends up spinning a complete 180 going roughly 50-55mph I believe. It was scarely as hell to watch realizing he could have seriously injured himself, and possibly someone in the oncoming lanes (if their were any) After the race we pulled off and talked for a little bit. We were both shaking, as we were scared to hell of what just happened. First thing I said was "why'd you pull the ebrake?" He quickly replies "I DIDNT!" He just lightly tapped the brakes and it was about 30degrees outside so the ground was almost frozen over. Were lucky to be alive, especially him.

Stayed Even with a supposed 13 second car (from a roll, and im AWD)
Do not race when the ground is frozen. Period.
We will race again, from a stop, and tape it of course, WHEN its day-light, most likely, so we wont redo what happened tonight.
