the techedge unit--- just make sure you can source an O2 BEFORE ordering it. napa online will accept your order, but in about a week they will email you saying it was canceled because they are out of stock. same thing with thepartsbin. i dont know if anything has changed....but i could be wrong.
i know a few people who are running the techedge unit and say its ok. i personaly went for the FJO.

evil-- dont you have anyone you can go in with to buy another unit? you will most likely spend the same amount of money, but it is very straight forward and no need to locate an O2. besides that...it is not just real time display....you can log the FJO. i could be wrong, but i think the techedge you can not. it is more like one of those flashy greddy a/f ratio lightshow guages...that is acurate.

after taking a close look at the techedge site...there is a way o log, but you need a certain kit. it is not listed on there. they give the name of it, but no link. i wonder how much more that is?

anyway...here is a sample of the FJO display. ;)

here is there website. http://www.fjoinc.com/automotive/WBO2details.htm

i am not promoting them...just speaking from experience. i dont know to much about the techedge, so i cant comment on that one. i know i was originaly going to go with a MoTec WB...but the software for dataloging was rediculious...

I would go with an EGT. Its simpler to use and lower maintenance. There are several guys in the top 20 who tune by knock and egts. An egt also costs less.
who are these top 20? i realy have to hear this one... so you are saying they do NOT use a WB...they use an EGT to tune a motor?

if you chose one only, go with WBO2.
you will see the best tuning with it.
if you want more, then get EGT also.

sucks that the 5-wire NTK WB sensor is on backorder from peter at techedge, the parts bin, and napaonline.

Wow. That FJO software is sweet! I would have to say, that is one of the most useful tools I have ever seen.

An EGT gauge is nice to have, If you are tuning for a perfect "drag" tune. It would be bad to melt a piston. Honestly, many of us who have a good grasp on how our cars are tuned, can affort to hold off on the EGT gauge and get the Wideband O2 setup. I don't think I ever saw more than 800C on mine. Besides, if your A/F is perfect and you have no knock, there is very little chance that you need to fear EGTs.

So I would say, get the O2 and the software tune with that until you can afford the cash for the EGT gauge.
