Getting head unit tomorrow or tuesday.. Got it for 145$ shipped from ikesound, so it was a steal and now i have some more cash for other parts for my car ;-)

Now i want to know if i need the MITAH connectore thing for my stock amp, or not. Can i just use a wiring harness and thats it, or do i need this connectore for the stock amp. I realize without using this connector i wont be utilizing the stock amp, but the Sony apparently has an amp built in, so i htink it should be enough to power the speakers on its own, then i could just take out this stock POS and forget about it.. hehe..

Info is needed, since im going tomorrow to buy the harness and install kit and Amp converter (if i really need it)

thanks

I may be wrong but I think there is also a by-pass harness you can get that will take the input to the amp and patch it to the output connector on the amp and let you remove it... since your speaker wires originate under your passenger side seat due to the amp you'd have to either splice wires to there or just use the factory harness and jump the wires from the input side of amp harness to the output side.... then again that may be what the METRA (they make one I think) harness does....
