95 TSi Awd (1st race) VS Unbadge VW !

This race actually just happend approx ... 2 hours ago or so (Toronto dsm owners / this was by Yorkdale mall) ...

I had just gotten out of the mall (grabbing some clothes) and made my way home (minding my business) ... I came up to an intersection and hit a red light .. I was just listning to some music when I noticed a Dark Black VW infront of me (the owners continued to look at my car 3 / 4 / 5 times) .. I think they were trying to find the fmic

Anyways the owner of the VW puts his window down and ask's me what year the car was (I said 95) and he argued with me (it has to be a 97 / 98) . I tried to explain the front facia (bumper) was changed. Apparently he knew my dsm more then I (whatever)

I drove next to him for a while and noticed he had no badges on the back of his vehicle I was thinking (Either a shitty 2.0) non turbo .. Or possibly a sleeping bastard ... I decided to find out .. I quickly made my way into his lane (behind the vw) and high beamed him 3 / 4 times ... Finally he caught on ... And gave the vw some steam .... "TURBO" I could hear the fuck nice and loud (Right away) ... I just installed my 14b / intercooler / literally a day ago so "had to see what the 95 had." We lined up at another intersection .. I reved up to 4000 and let her rip at green ... Obviously I spanked this vw badly to about 80kmph ..

then to my surprise (as we continued our race) 110 / 120 ... This friggin VW was "Catching up!!!" AND I HAD A FRIGGIN 14B !!! I shut down at 130 ... (Not willingly) but because the race was getting a little out of hand for a 50 kmph zone ... He was obviously upset I shut down because his car was just taking off (I won the first battle with this vw ....) I would say I beat her badly .. But it did catch up after

I agreed to a roll at 60 kmph (god why did I do something stupid with an awd vehicle) ... I downshift from 3rd / 2nd .. And made my way up the speedo quickly .. by 100 kmph we were literally neck and neck 120 / 130 ... 140 He made ground on me (He took me buy approx half a car length ...

I was very surprised and some what upset (because I thought my 14b would not let me down

... In anycase an awesome race / awesome car ... Toronto dsm racers .. Look out for a jet black / vw with no badges (Shes a fast SOB) ...

Careful with those VW's. I got my ASS kicked by an unbadged sleeper Jetta. He kept playing with me, but I knew he could have dissapeared at any time. Those things can be really fast. Good kill.

Ok well here goes

1st off I completely restored my 1995 Eagle talon Tsi awd (I will have pics up on the lounge section in a few days for you guys to see ...

here are the specs

135 xxx kilom on the motor
180 compression threwout
Blitz boost gauge
K&N fipk
2.5 inch exhaust system (buschur) ( 3 inch came off)
hallman boost controller
td05h / 17 psi / sonoco gas

haha
side mount ic unit (yea yea) it does the job
txs blow of valve
stock rims / all seasons

new tires though

thats about it for now .. might be a few things I left out ..

I had the car running on a completely dead t25 ... For approx 2 months .. After the installation the difference was very impressive .. Anyways check the lounge section in a day or so for pictures of my before / after / parts shots

Pressure check your intake.
Re-wire you fuel pump.
Gut the cat (or get a test-pipe)
Lean it out a little.

And I doubt he will walk you again.

Im getting the test pipe on friday actually .. (I made my emissions) at my friends shop so ill be allright for a while ...

Other then that I think shes running ok .. I sort of was looking at a volvo fmic (some guy had the setup for 300 can) bucks , but I really see no point for one now ...

I know im not up for a rebuild just yet , but I really want to do some work on the motor

One pulled the same thing on me a while back by teasing me for a race. His car was unbadged and I was like sure, Ill show this guy up. The VW had a hidden agenda as well as an unmarked car that game me a suprise. However, hehe, I like to call my car "Stock tsi" bc it looks that way and many o'racer has mistaken my bad paintjob and stock exhaust for a beatup old has been.

He found out DSMs can play the sleeper game too. After three pulls, he didnt keep up, but fought a great race. I tried to line up to give him a thumbs up for a well put together sleeper; and to rub it in.

He, however, played the "this is my exit game" and when for the next exit. Dam I love my DSM

I just bought my wife a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T. It's a pretty quick car. I believe VW raised the boost on the 2002 and up to make 180HP compared to 150 the previous years. Anyways, does anyone know of any good websites where I can learn more on upgrades on the car? The only thing I don't like about the car is that it's an automatic

Cool car, try VWvortex.com that's pretty much the only VW site I know of. They got a FAQ somewhere on there on steps to mod the 1.8t motors and its VERY straight forward with lots of info. Hope I could help.

also they raised the compression a bit from 9.3 to 95 i beleive. pretty hi for a turbo motor.

One of the single best mod's you can do to a vw is the upgraded chip. A few of my friends have gotten it on their golfs/jettas/a4's etc and i am very impressed with the change for how little work is involved.

This guy got banned beacuse he's a bullshit liar. Your wasting your breath, he's not going to reply. And yes, most of us know chipping Audi's/VW's gives them alot of power. IMO, most chipped 1.8't still make about as much hp as a stock dsm.
