Ok i bought a 97 gsx about 3 weeks ago.... i was in need of a car i just said screw it if it has cw i will just deal with it. Well i was driving and all of a sudden when i pushed the clutch in i hear this high pitched ticking sound. The car had a problem with shifting... it's like i have to force it in gear on 1st and 2nd... i just figured it was worn out or something. It makes the noise all the time just slightly during idle though. But when i push the clutch in it gets nasty. Also when i push the clutch in the engine slows by a couple of hundred rpm. I'm guessin something maybe is touchin something it shouldn't ... like the crank into the damn motor. I'm not really a mechanic so i don't really know what the deal is but i would appreciate it if someone who knows about it would help me. The noise is coming from the left side of the motor. Like i said i couldn't tell you what half the parts are under there. But to me it sounds like crankwalk. If so i'm prolly just gonna get a first gen motor. I've read where i can get a jdm for around a thousand .. and a 20% chance of one having a 16g with it. If anyone has any helpful advice i would appreciate it.. cuz it's not like i'm goin anywhere.
