Maybe it's the lingering heavy cold air but I now regularly smell heavy exhaust fumes inside my spyer from my own exhaust.

I 've checked unerneath the car around the exhaust piping during cold morning warmups but I did'nt seek any leaks. I have turbo back with 2.5' db and 3' Thermal and had it for last two years. The fumes inside the car gotten worse, I've never had it this bad.
It's bearable once the car starts rolling but at stop it stinks!

Could it be that my ragtop is getting to the stage where it can no longer filter fumes out effectively?

Any other spyders have this problem? I'm planning to treat the ragtop with some cleaner and ragtop wax or like and some TLC.

I have a leak at my O2 housing to downpipe. You can't see it, but I can feel it. The studs on my O2 housing are in pretty bad shape. Has anyone tried to remove the studs? I would assume they're pretty much impossible to get off because I can't double nut them because of how badly stripped they are. I think the only way to get them off is with vice grips, but I don't think they'll be nearly tight enough. I think I'd probably need to have nuts welded on and then I can get them off. Any other ideas?

It's most likely the connection from the O2 housing to the downpipe as was already stated. Start the car and listen for signs of a leak. It could be the gasket that connects the two or it just might not be tightened enough. Either way, check it out. Hope this helps.

hey spyderx i got the same prob. figured it was just the o2 or cracks on the exhaust side of the turbo. it smells the worst at high boost or when i down shift. let me know what you find out,i cant troubleshoot the prob cause i'm in mississippi and my car is in san diego, sux.

Hmmmm...I'll definitely check out the O2/DP connection. What does exhaust leak sound like ? Brrrr Brrrr...psss..psss, gonna be tough w/the Thermal growling.

I'm also thinking that if this is the case of loose exhaust connection at O2/DP, maybe it's the clicking/tapping noise that I hear every so often at low boost (especially, when it's cold outside).

I'll have to crawl underneath her, yet again, all too familar sight.:(

Thanks guys, I'll post what I find.
