I'll make this short and simple. Eric "Gopherhog" and I went out Saturday night looking for trouble. Well, we both ended up finding some. I raced a 97 M3, 5spd..... Anyway, both were from a roll on my gay ass slipping clutch. First one was from, I had it in 2nd gear and we went from 3 honks. Well, I instantly pulled about a car length and continued to keep pulling. At about 100 I had 3-4 cars on him. The second race he wanted to go from a stop but I wouldn't go do to the clutch. Well, he slowed way the hell down and I told myself that my clutch wasn't going to agree with this. Anyway, we ended up going from like at 10-15mph roll and I was in first. I punch it on 3 honks and I can feel the bastard slipping. As I pop it into second and I have some momentum, my car is a little more forgiving on the clutch and I start to pull and slowly keep creeping...at the end of that race around 70-80mph I had about 2 cars on him. I checked the stats and those should run 14 flat @ 99mph. Second race was with at 98+ LS1 Z-28 auto. I was scared shitless knowing these things can make some power and that I was already beating on a slipping clutch. Well, we raced from probably a 30mph roll, I was in 2nd up high in the RPM's. We honk 3 and we are off. To my surprise I gane and hold him off about a car back. "AMAZING" I take it up to 120mph and as I'm shutting her down I look in the review and see him starting to creep! I'm sure that if we would have kept going he would of eventually crept by me :rolleyes: But I did think it was pretty cool that my new turbo could do that:eek: The Z-28 LS1's trap at 103-104mph....he was auto so I'll give him that. I'm not saying that I'm some bad ass or anything but yes, I am bosting and I am pretty damn proud of my kills. I guess we'll see what kind of numbers I lay down once the track opens. I want a FMIC, S-AFC and Injectors by summer. Hopefully that will bump me about around 110traps. "Praying" Thanks for reading my kills and any info or imput would be much appreciated!

Muahahaha. See! I knew we'd find some people out to play around with. You take down an LS1 and an M3. All i get to beat on is a lousy Teg and Probe GT. Na, good times tonight

That M3 was pretty quick! I had him up till 110 or so.. Seems they are made for traveling on the autobahn. Imagine that :)

Good kills! I can't wait to see what you do once you turn up the boost back up from 12psi, and get that clutch in.

Screw the AFC, get DSMlink, take advantage of that aspect of 2G's, for tuning and monitoring, you cant beat it! :)

(can you tell I'm proud of my DSMlink? :D)

Yea

Yea, I just look up the M3 on www.car-stats.com to find out the numbers a 97m3 can put down!
As for the LS1....yes, SS or WS6's can trap 107 stock. But like I said this was a Z-28....little slower and he had an AUTO! Here are some figures for you tested. A 02 SS manual will put down anywhere from 280-300hp to the wheels. An automatic 02 SS will put down anywhere from 260-280....see the power difference in autos. Plus the fact that this was a Z, meaning it has a little lest hp to start off with!

LS1s put down 300-320 hp, from what I've seen. Automatic trap at the same, and their really is no difference between ss and z.

PS automatics don't lose that much power, they dyno at around the same as a manual, maybe 5 hp less, but not 260 hp. that's alittle low

;) If your talking LT1 Autos..yeah 260 is about right.. LS1s are definately ~300rwhp... Darkstang hit it right on the nose... we are not talking about the ford AOD here...GM autos don't lose much power.

This is a message board right? If i said some incorrect info about a DSM you guys would correct me in a heart beat. Just trying to sound smart for a minute considering I know very little about DSMS:D
 
nice kills man. Question for ya, your able to run your 16G on 16psi with stock injectors without any issues? I didn't think that you could do that.

Yea, when I ordered it from Forced Performance, I talked to Robert and he told me that was the highest and safest psi that I could run on the Big16 with my setup. I do have a 255 Walbro though! He said that I would not be running rich with the 255, and that is just an internet myth! He told me to be careful though....that when it is cold out it might start creeping and/or around 6000rpm's it might start creeping too, which in turn he said to let off the throttle. He stated that every car is different and on some cars you might not be able to run that much psi without it creeping. I guess I got lucky, because when it is warm out "which is was Saturday night, 65degrees" it will hold 16psi to redline!

ps. Once I get my Injectors, AFC, and FMIC I'll be running 18-20psi all day long!
 
Nice to see how well your car has progressed since being here. Nice kills, I would love to take down an LS1 (not gonna happen yet though).

Those are good base numbers but not all fbodys dyno that especially the very strong 2002. I dont know what they put in those engines those are monsters, I was thinking of trading mine in for a 2002 TA..

To give you real facts, My LT1 (m6) stock internals with bolt ons runs consistant high 107's and sometimes breaks 108-109 depending on conditions.
We have a bone stock WS6 (a4) TA that runs consistant 105 traps, The six speeds run 107 stock.

If you would have kept racing another 20 mph at most, he would have walked right by you. I know this from experience. They just breathe too well, the components are matched from the factory and tuned very well for stock everything.

Ya, he probably would have started catching back! I know for a fact I don't trap 107...probably not even 105mph! Possibly low 100's. The reason why I got such a jump and held it was because of dsm gearing and the fact that it was chilly out! Hopefully tuned I'll be able to get around 110mph:D But then again, I don't even know if I'll take my car that far. Me and UnforgivenGSX are looking into the sunset of new cars. Him a LS1 Firebird and as for me.....SupraTT! Gotta love the stock power they are capable of!
