Like I already said a GST with crappy all seasons, a cold road and no traction compound laid down like on the track and the idea of him even getting a half way decent launch sound like a stretch. Especially for how cold and wet its been on the east coast for the last two or three weeks.
he also said he rode the hell out of the clutch just to get his 'launch'

12's in a bone-stock Vr4 is complete bullshiat. I've never heard of such a thing. Those tanks have problems gettin into the 13's stock.

Huh?? Problem getting into the 13s?? You are on crack or something:confused:
That's like saying GST&GSX have problems getting into 15's.

But whoever said stock vr4 getting into 12's is BS. Fastest 3S ran 13.0x@105.

I'm way up here in Denver, so that may change things a bit. But the fact is that my 92 VR4 will whoop on any 14b powered car that doesnt have a FMIC and a shitload of work done to it.
What does the VR4 run up here at Bandi? I have a friend with a 14b set at 17psi with just a catback, intake and a MBC that ran a 13.8 up here but from a roll your VR4 will pummel him.

reading your mods, you should of been able to take stock VR4, it would of been fairly close if he could drive for shit, but hey if he cant, he loses.

everyone else needs to quit being so damn ignorant about 3000's also. The same can be said on 3Si about them being ignorant toward dsm's. Learn a little bit before you talk shit about cars.

doh...meant this to be in there also...

Sounds like the race was embellished some here...letting off and getting back on...heh ok...maybe he wasn't racing. This race could of gone either way though if either of you launched for crap.

Maybe this "kill" is slightly exaggerated. However, those that believe it is totally BS must be thinking that since the fastest time ever for a stock TT Stealth/3000Gt is a 13.0 @ 105 then every single one of them will run this every single time regardless of weather, track conditions or driver. It just isn't to be. Maybe this guy just has a really good running FWD DSM. Maybe the 3000GT owner totally screwed up the launch or just wasn't racing at first. Maybe unknown factors could have contributed to this "kill". I know for a fact that a stock FWD DSM can run 9.3's @ 84+ mph in the 1/8th (mine) with just an exhaust system and boost controller. That would turn into approximately a high 13 (13.8?) @ 105ish. Now, I have seen some TT Stealths run mid 14's @ 100 mph or even slightly less mph. If I was to run into one of those mid 14 second cars, I would definitely be able to pull on it from anything beyond about a 30 mph roll. That's exactly what this guy claimed. Now the stop and wait for him and get back into the throttle thing, well...

a friend of mine has a 93 stealth rt twin turbo. The 1994 up cars have 20 more factory claimed flywheel horses, totaling 320. this kid has mbc, test pipes and k&n's. i have a 95 gs-t with full exhaust, intake, and 1st gen.

i had his car by about 3 ft... we let off at 100. his car would have took me if we continued of course.

p.s. RRE told me that it doesnt take much to beat a 3k

I still say it sounds like BS cause of the exaggerated claims.

I'm only running on beliveing he let of for like a split second... I wasn't there, so I like to believe people don't lie to impress others..(Of course, that's the biggest reason people lie anyway)

Man I hate when people do that. Supposedly every stock LS1 runs high 12's and every stock 5.0 is a 13 second car.

i HATE that aswell.

If it was true, then a dsm would be a mid 14 sec car. Since there are a few of those people who launch at the rev limiter and powershift on a nice perfect day.

Or with $775 someone can run a 12.5
it has happened, but doesn't mean it will happen all the time.

1g 3si's are low 14 sec to high high 13's
2g 3si's are mid 13 sec

now aren't the stealths(year vs year) just a hair fasters due to the reduced weight?

Where year is the generation split on 3000GTs?
94 is.

94 95 3/S has a dumbass hybrid obd1 and obd2 computer setup, so we can't datalog them. However it also seems that these are the fastest 3/S's... Kinda strange that way.

As for the story, I do belive it is posible for a basic bolt on FWD DSM to beat a stock vr-4 but that part about him saying he let off turned and waved and then shifted and walked him common now.

Unless the dude let off cause he figured he had the kill under his belt and you did a ricer fly by. I don't belive that part of your story.

Seriously i don't undstand why so many people out there have such a problem with believe that this really happened. If i had said i beat a f-body in the same fashion everyone would have cheered but you 3000gt owners...not all tho but some seem to think your cars are unbeatable. And i didn't realize it but i never updated my website's list of mods. The only different thing is that i do have my gauges installed and that i put my fuel pump in. My mechanic was a jackass..he said it wouldn't fit cause it was smaller so i decided to finally just try it myself and drop the gas tank and see what happened. But anyways here is a list of my mods for anyone who couldn't get my website to open since i keep running out of bandwidth...
1) K&N Air Filter
2) Air Silencer Honeycomb Removal
3) 2 1/2" Mandrelbent Buschar Racing downpipe
4) 2 1/2" Buschar Racing Testpipe
5) 3" Mandrelbent Buschar Racing Catback Exhaust
6) APEX-i AVCr Boostcontroller set to 18psi
7) Full pillar gaugepod
8) Autometer Phantom Series; Boost pressure, Oil pressure, Water Temp.
9) 3" to 2 1/2" Dejon Tools Intake Pipe
10) 2 1/2" D.T. Upper intercooler Pipe
11) Ported 1g Intake Manifold
12) Walbro 255 ltr/hr Fuel Pump
13) Unothodox Racing Underdrive Pulleys
14) K&N breather on valve cover
15) NGK Spark Plugs
16) NGK 8mm Wires
17) 96 Talon TSi exhaust manifold
18) 3 Angle valve job
So if anyone around here has any problem with me saying this happened and also owns a stock vr4 i can usually be found on central ave in albany most weekends. Its probably the only teal 1g turbo you will find around here.

You have to drop the gas tank to change the fuel pump on a 1G car? On my 2G I just had to pull out the back seat.
Maybe only on FWD car but AWD 1st gens you just lift the carpet in the hatch and there it is and no seat removal.

You won because of the other driver. Tell you what, with me behind the wheel of any stock 2nd gen VR4 (provided it is in proper shape and not out of tune), I guarantee you will not beat me with the mods you have.
