ok.. boost creep is back after month or 2 of steady boost.

before i changed the wastegate acutator. i tried that and checkd vac lines but it still creeps...

now the deciosin.. shoud i go with an external wastegate or just do the 34mm flapper mod. remember its a bitch to take the turbo out.=) what do u guys think?

heres teh mods:

ported big 16g, 2g ex mani , o2 housing

2.5 ic pipig to a supra smic

full 2.5 turboback no cat

some other shit whichi thnk dont hae anythig to do with boost creep

I think an external wastegate is probably a little overkill for for your set up. If your arent creeping that bad then the 34mm will work wonders, but in my case I still get a little bit of boost creep even with the 34mm flapper, but I have a 3" turboback which will cause it to creep more. After thinking about it a little more, since you have 2.5" exhaust then the 34mm flapper should be perfect for you.:)

flapper

Port the o2 housing while its out of the car. Consintrate on the junction where the bypass and main passages combine. Make sure the bypass exhaust can get into the main passage smoothly. This will reduce the risk of creep.

34mm flapper will help out and port it out, Im to lazy to take off the turbo so Im getting an 02 dump housing to see how much that works, in the long run I know I will have to get the 34mm flapper and port it out, but for now Im not going to.

the stock flapper is the bigger bottleneck (or would that be the smaller bottleneck...:) ) Since you're going to remove the o2 housing, just pop off the exhaust housing.. 4 bolts and a nut on the band clamp. Hog out the flapper hole, install flapper, and be done with creep

i would take of the exhuast housing the only thing is that I had to weld the wastegate arm to the flapper hande because the pin fell out, so I some how would have to remove the spot weld to be able to pull it off. and if you take off the exhaust housing how in the hell does the turbo stay in the car, what supports it.

I have done both. (I now have a tial 40).
The 34mm did not stop my boost creep.I have 3"
exhaust from the downpipe back though.
With the 2.5 you should be fine.As long as you
dont go 3" no cat ect. the 34mm will work good and
was not that hard to install. Make sure you port your
O2 why you're in there.

I dont get it when I first put my turbo on i had no creep at all, but when it got colder outside I started to get creep like crazy, now its not so bad, its getting warmer but still some creep

Check to see if your wastgate flapper is opening all the way.

Check for vacume leaks on the line to the wastgate actuater. If there is a leak here, the wastgate may only open part way.

So i f I had a Intake,3in no cat Turbo back,and UICP would i creep on a 14B with a 34mm Flap?
Not necessarily, some people have a 3 in turboback w/o cat with the 34mm wastegate and dont have any creep at all. My car on the other hand still did get some creep, I have it set to 12-13 psi and it creeps to about 17 or so. I put my high flow cat on the other day, and it pretty much eliminated the boost creep. Now it stays rock solid where I set it in 1st and 3rd, and creeps about 2 psi in second. I havent quite figured out why it creeps a little in second, but its fine with me.:)

i put on my 3 inch downpipe and i get alot of creep, and i just ported my flapper hole and the turbo and the o2 housing, im gonna get a 2.5 inch downpipe and o2 dump

You sure about that, Jon?;) This is generally the case, unless your car hates you. 34mm and hogged O2 and still creeping. Thinking about going external come tax return time.

Wait, you had steady boost control and then out of no where you are creeping again? And you didn't change anything? Are you trying to run a lower amount of boost?

I had a bad (weak) mbc spring that would stick when it got cold out. It would spike and not hold a constant pressure.Just a suggestion.

yep.. steady boost then out of nowhere it creeped again.. MBC is good.. i tried running boost of the wastegate and it stays at 9 then creeps agin. i didnt lower my boost settings. i suspect that its the flapperarm that wont open completely
