On sunday i had my ac belt break and some how work its self through the timing belt cover wraping around the crankpully and throwing off the timing leaving me with a blown engine.

so now iam looking at engine replacement, what type of enging should i go with just a new 4g63, is it possible to replace the engine with a 1g 4g63, to avoid any possibility of crankwalk?

Please help!!!!

Search first.

there has been alot of threads about installing a 6 bolt 1G motor into 2G's. Im sure you can find all the info you need by clicking the red button up in the right corner.

First off yes you can swap the entire motor to a 1g setup. Check magnus and roadrace (as well as here) for more info on it.

Otherwise to be perfectly honest, you could simply get a 1g head and maybe get a valve job done to it and be done with it. I bet your bottom end is good for now (assuming isnt not CW badly). Just a 1g Head and all the new timing belt components won't cost you much at all. If you do the work yourself the parts shouldnt run over $1000 and that is if you get a rebuilt 1g head with no core.

Good luck
