Ok, i just got off the tele with streetimports.com

and he told me that he can get me a motor with a 16g and automatic tranny for 2199$

and i said "well, wouldnt i have to get a new ecu or a Fuel computer to run that" and he said no!@

is that true?

i was for sure that with the 16g you would need it.

and would the automatic come with the 16g stock?

Eclipses over sea's where given a 16g turbo on them stock over the shitty 14b/t25's we have here.

As for 2199 that seems really cheap for an engine and Tranny, and you will need a new ecu i think. The stock ecu was for the US motor and setup :)

you should be able to run a stock US ecu the fuel maps are better fitted for US gas. the only thing i would worry about would be injector size. but sounds nice congrats.

i c,

most come with the ECU right?

so if i ordered this one with the 16g and it came with an ecu, all i would have to do is bolt it up and plug in the ECU right

since it came stock with the 16g.

damn things has a 60day unlim mileage warranty.

buy the shit, and its time for a road trip

you need to change a few sensors around, and like the coil pack. stuff like that. check the vfaq page out.

I got a motor and tranny from them over the winter (big16, 5 speed) and am very happy with it. The motor runs great and the tranny shifts perfect, no notchiness. The swap is cake, most the sensors are the same. No ecu, but you don't need it, the US ecu is all you need.

I was just wondering if you knew what sensors needed to be swapped... My DSM came without a motor, it was rediculously cheap. So I'm gonna need to order new sensors, or go to some junkyards, for the ones that need to be swapped.

Eh,
I have a sig that showed my NT and the TSI AWD i just got, but it was a nanobyte over the limit i woudl imagine, and it got canned, lol

yes, i am going to order a JDM engine with the 16g

one thing though, it the 16g available with an AUTo tranny?

cause my car is an auto,

and if i get the 16g one, my computer will run it ok?

Seems pricey... have you shopped around? I have seen motor and tranny combos for a lot cheaper than that, and if you talk to the guys at these places they can find you the 16g motors for the prices quoted on their sites (which from what i have found is cheaper than what you quoted).

Good luck man, im debating between getting a JDM motor or rebuilding my blown up one.

I didn't keep the ac, my car is pretty stripped.
I put the US intake on (higher flow) along with the US coil pack. On my car I had to swap the coolant/thermostat housing, install a external oil cooler, and a electric oil pressure gauge. I used the jdm throttle body, but I have all the emissions removed. For most people you'd probably use the US tb. Other than that I don't think there was anything else that "had" to be swapped. I've seen other people say that there are a bunch of other sensor's that had to be switched (cam angle sensor) but I didn't have that problem.

sorry for the bubble bursting but....
The auto JDM motor, even in japan, comes with 310cc injectors, smaller cams and a 13g. Now, you can believe what some company who is trying to make 2000 dollars of a what they assume is an uninformed consumer, or you can listen to a guy who did plenty of research and made the purchase himself.

It is possible to switch the auto tranny to a 16g standard motor, but Ive never seen the motor import companies do that.

Point being. I was told Id get a standard tdo5 16g and recieved an auto 13g while the issue was resolved it happened because these companies assume the consumer is uninformed and will buy anything with little knowledge of the subtle differences.

Make sure you question exactly what the compressor housing says. Also, you should seriously consider going for a built USDM and save yourself time money and hassle.

my .02 of experience.

The 16G engines are fairly rare. Most are going to be 14B with a 5 speed. Even if you got one with a 5 speed with it, you could still use the engine in your car and sell the tranny. Might check the group buy section, there was a buy for JDM engines in there methinks.
