just replaced the rear pads, now i can't lock the wheels up

i just replaced my rear pads, after driving around for a bit i tried locking them up to test it out. but they just don't lock up anymore!!... did i screw something up when i installed the new pads? or is it just cause they're brand new pads?

Did you bed the pads properly? Did you bleed you brake system after you changed your pads?(pretty sure you need too)

There is no need to bleed the rear brakes if you did not take the brake line loose nad you shouldn't have to replacing the pads or rotors.

no i did'nt bleed the system i didn't open the line so i figured i didn't need too. what's beding the pads? is that just setting them in by doing light braking before any moderate to heavy braking?

Yup, several 40-0 stops by gradually applying pressure on the pedal should bed them.

I always flush the old brake fluid when changing brake pads. I'm too lazy to do it every other year like you should.
