do i have to drop the oilpan and downpipe and subframe to just remove the rear bearing like they show on vfaq.

it looks like you drop the oilpan so you can get to the bearing, but they say u dont gotta mess with the rear bearing so would that mean the oilpan can stay on and i just pull the oilpump cover off and then take the rear shaft out and put the stubby one in then slap it back on.

im gonna order the oilpump seal, think i need any other seals like the oil pumpcover, crankshaft seal, and oil filter gasket

i guess its time for an oilchange then

should i bother ordering any gaskets other then the crank/oilpump seal

I ordered all the seals on the vfaq page (figured while i was in there, i'd replace everything)... which includes front cover seal, oil filter housing seal, crank seal, oil pump seal... I'm sure you could use RTV as the cover and housing gaskets, but for the price, I figured screw it.. i didn't want any chances of a leak.
