Hello.
Maybe this has something to do with either idle control or sensing... anyone have any ideas? Here are the symptoms:

if I drive somewhat aggressively in town or, say, go on at least a 10-20 minute 50mph+ drive, and stop for, say, less than 20 minutes, something odd happens. I'll start the car just fine, but it idles to a stop just after starting. I can restart it fine, but unless I gas it a bit to bring it above the idle speed it chooses, it will die. This lasts for maybe just over a minute if I don't immediately take off and start driving again. Maybe idle sense? Fuel delivery? Not sure.

If I drive to work (short drive) and try this, it doesn't happen. If I drive enough or hard enough to heat the engine up good, it seems to happen almost reliably. If I let it sit for more than 20 minutes or so, it won't happen. If I let it sit for 5 minutes or so, it usually doesn't happen.

So, say I stop for lunch off the highway, or maybe am running errands after work... that's when it happens. When I stop and then go again after a delay between about 5 and 20 minutes. But that's it. Outside of those conditions, all appears normal...

Eh!!?

As far as engine mods go... none.
I have a TRE tranny, ACT clutch, non-crappy wheels, and a K&N FilterCharger (this is the only thing I can think of that could have caused this that is a mod). I do plan on eliminating the cat conv. this summer.

But, it's not all the time...
Only after good drives that heat the engine up to par, then between 5 and 15 minutes of downtime.
Then and only then, does it seem to idle too low.
Speed across the parking lot, though, and then it's usually fine. Just odd and annoying. Monday at Best Buy, I started, it ran and then died. I started it again, and it died after I pulled out of my parking spot, making me look like an incompetent driver. After that, I made great time across the lot, after which, it didn't die. :) This is a very reliable and repeatable scenario.

mine when to crap after i hacked my mas (removed lower honeycomb) but i was hitting fuel (and i got tired of that) u may want to check all your vac. lines or the biss screw(do a search or check vfaq) is the car tuned up recently? keep me informed man.............

This is the time of year when the service stations are still selling winter gas (low boiling point) before switching over to summer gas (higher boiling point). These cars have always had vapor lock problems. The fuel pressure solenoid on the firewall is a failed attempt by the maker to fix this.

So, I don't think anything fixable is wrong. Maybe try a different brand of fuel.

Crap my car starting doing this to me:mad: My 90 NEVER did this to me:rolleyes: Maybe it's the RC 550s, denso 190 and stock FPR since my 90 had 650s, Supra pump and spoolin AFPR. Mmm, my 90 used to do it when I first bought it, but after all the mods it never did it again. There must be a fix!
