Hey guys I have a completely built 6-bolt motor and I'm running the street/strip Webcams, and I was wondering if anyone has moved from the Webcams to the 272/272 HKS, and what kind of power gains you've seen? I just wanna know if it's worth it.

The only way you will see any real power out of the 272/272 is buy getting a turbo that is bigger then a 16G. If your not planning on anything bigger then a 16G then don't get them.

The AMS test was a wonderful test. But keep in mind it was done with a 16g powered car. I think the 16g couldn't move enough air to take advantage of the larger cams.

I run crower 414's in my stroker and i love them. Eight months ago they showed wear. It took 5-6 months to get them replaced. During which time I ran a set of 272,s. The car lost 4mph at the track.

When I finally got the cams back i ran a back to back dyno test. The 414s gained me 10 peak whp, no loss of torque, and I gained 47whp at 7500 rpm.

Trust me for 5-6 months I went crazy trying to find that missing 4mph. Surely it couldn't be the almighty 272's.

It was.

Thus why I am currently trying to track down a set of the elusive (to the point of almost being mythical) 310s.

wow, very impressive number lancerman. Looks like if your going with with an average sized turbo (T28/16g up to maybe a 20g) then the HKS 264/264 are the way to go. Pretty crazy gains over the stock camshafts with that 16G. That's a nice test that they did.

so

so what size of of turbo do you have to have to take advantage of the 272's? also if i were to got with 264/272 combination right now with my turbo...if i were to get a bigger turbo down the road such as an fp green or l2r...would the 264intake/272exhaust setup hurt me any, or would it still work the same?
thanx,
-ryan

Right now I only have the DSM Performance puppy, but when I upgrade (within a month) it'll be either the L3R or a 60-trim garrett. So when I move to that, I should see decent power gains from the WebCams?

So 10hp cost you 4mph..I highly doubt that.....

Read a little closer. 10whp peak gain. Peak occurs around 6200rpm. 7000rpm 25whp gain,7500 rpm 47whp gain. Still doubt 4mph as unrealistic?

I currently have two turbo setups. 57trim/stage3 and a t67. The 57 comes on like gangbusters but fizzles out on top. the t67 sacrifices some 4-5500 torque, but pulls nicely up top.

The car was originally built with the 57 and hks 264's. when the 414,s where added it felt like cams where added all over again.

Whats is a set of 310's?????
