As far as I know the 300ZX TTs used the T28, I'm not sure of the skyline. As to using springs to hold the wastegate closed...I guess that's a delicate balancing act between holding it closed and overwhelming the actuator. Maybe I should calculate the force the diaphram should exert. Thanks for the info 4npower. :)

Yeah, but don't both of those cars use TWO T25s? :)
not the 84-90 300zx, they use 1. but yes the others do use 2-t25s but they are also 6 cylinders. basically what i'm trying to say is that the t25 can't be all that bad if japan decided to use it on 2 of their supercars.

FWIW, the McLaren turbo Grand Prix used the Garrett T-25 as well.

I'm not feeding BS here, he ran about 20psi that fell off to 15psi by redline and ran 12.9 @104mph. If you people are all skeptics here a few details that really set his car apart from other's:
Autronic stand alone!!
Race Gas
He own's an import race shop, so he's well versed in setting up cars to go fast (he now has a t3/t4)
- look how low his mph was too 104.0 <-- he ran 12's on the 60ft

well i definetly agree there, but isn't that the great thing about having awd?? the race is either won or lost in the first 60'. atleast that's how it is with the t25 :D

I just wish more people believed proper parts selection and tuning is really what is going to create the power, not just slapping on 10 aftermarket parts.
nah, you don't want that mike. then everybody would be fast and the poor aftermarket would go bankrupt. i enjoy killing cars with twice the mods and half the tuning :D

I want to see those pics of the T25 with the spring mod too 4npower! I didn't want to "bend" my actuator bracket as described in another thread to compress the spring a bit. Your idea sounds "safer" though I'm not sure the exact detail of it.

Well 96 GSX, you just have to figure out a way to mount a spring such that you are increase the force keeping the wastegate closed. Shouldn't be too complicated to figure out :). I wouldn't bend the bracket. I'd rather lengthen the actuator rod, by cutting it and using a threaded fitting, then to bend the bracket.

I'll give the spring trick a try.

I've heard that a good electronic boost controller can help by holding the boost at a steady line. Mine holds a 15psi all the way to red line. Now I haven't tried higher then that but is it true abou the electronic boost controllers??

I'm all for making my t25 go as far as possible but it just sucks because I'm to floor it in first. If lets say you run a t25 at 20+psi, do you need anything more than a fuel pump? I thought the t25 could handle that much pressure all the way through the rpms

I screwed up may last post. I meant to say that It sucks because I'm afraid to floor it in first because of traction. And I thought t25s could not handle the pressure from 20+ psi. What can they stand without causing stress?

hehe 20+ psi to the t25 ya... pass me the crack pipe.
If you ported out the t25, then it really wouldnt be a stock t25 would it? Again pass me the crack pipe
just my two cents, i couldnt get 15 psi to stay in my t25 with no pressure drop whatsoever.
