ok, well now i got a Rudora front since mine was messed up from a fender bender i had. i bought it from grounddynamics.com. looks cool, came white (i suppose primered?) anyways, there are no mounting holes or anything, im having a shop paint it and mount it on for me, i thought about doing it myself but i guess not. are they gonna have to put the bolts in themselves? (drill) and stuff like that, i dont have any 97+ headlights yet so there will be a gap for awhile until i can get the projectors. do all kits come like this?

Actually that front won't fit on there unless you get the 97 headlights. You can use a 95-96 bumper with 97+ headlights and there will be a small gap, but you can't do the reverse; it won't work. Oh and by the way, everyone that has projectors says they suck. Fear not, though, for I am here with a number to a place that sells the OEM style headlights that actually light up the road: 1-800-223-0171

Yes, most body kits usually come that way so you can mount them yourselfs in the places you wish. usually they come with some sort of instructions or "tips" on what works best.

Yeah, don't worry you will be fine. I've ordered through them before and their stuff usually fits quite well. If the shop is experienced with that sort of thing you may want to have them do it though, just a thought.

thanks,
tom

BTW: Why would you only work for 5.95 an hour? there has to be something better out there! :D

Well when I bought y Kamianri kit ofr the GS it came with mounting hardware..mounting points in hte kit and all..just pure bolt on and it was a prefect match...They are a little expencive but hey..quality costs ;-)

well this one didnt come with crap, just the bumper and a advertisement, no mounting anything. well i took it to the shop, and he dropped my stock bumper just to see if it fits. its gonna be a lil weird due to the wreck, everything was moved up a little, but it still fit. and with it black u might not be able to notice much.

the bumper covers the end of the headlights a bit but not much. it will be mounted on tomorrow (monday) woowee!

it was suppose to be on friday but the guy mound a lot of "waves" in teh mold so he had to smooth out. he could only do so much before i had to pay more. well he painted it black and everything with mounting it on for 180.00. (that's with tax) so it's a good price. i will post pics. cant wait!

well, i was so freakin excited cuz it's monday, well i call the guy and he tells me he had bad news...dammit. well turned out after he painted it there were billions of pinholes everywhere. probably because he kept trying to get the waves out by wetsanding the mold. well when i called him he was sanding it down and repainting it he said it will be tomorrow before he can have it on. .... :realmad: this is getting old now. is this common? i got it from grounddymanics.com

new problem...

well he called me today and again said there was bad news, like it still did the same thing (pin holes) after he put some sealer on it. man this sucks. i cant return it, i want it on, this is getting really annoying now. does this happen normally??? he called the paint shop where he buys his pain and asked them, they said there might be a contaimenent or something in the mold causing this shit to happen. anyone know whats going on? i might just have him paint it, LEAVE THE DAMN PINHOLES and work on it myself somehow, as long as i get the damn thing on the car.

any and all input would be great right about now..

well he finally got it done, and it's on, looks good, the only thing about it is the cover covers up a little part of the headlights, you cant even tell barely. and due to the little wreck i had it bent some things on the front end, so it kinda fits werid... otherwise it would of been a perfect fit. i will be taking pictures today andi will post them in the dsmpic threads

Nice Choice

Nice choice, that kit is sexy and rare. I just ordered my full Rdora Wednesday, sposed to be here next week. I plan on doing the same with my head light till I get some '97s. I ordered it at Stage Performace who went thru GTP aka www.importfan.com for 500.00. its blue glass has any one tried that or heard anything?

First- Pinholes can be caused by several things. Most likely it is the fact that when the resin was shot into the mold, it got little bitty airbubbles trapped at and near the surface of the mold. the ones on the surface will be filled by primer and unoticed until it is sanded. the ones near the surface will not be noticed until you try to sand the first ones out.

Second- Degreaser won't cause pinholes. What you are referring to are called "fisheyes" it is caused when the substance you are spraying doesn't want to stick to what you are spraying it on. On a fiberglass bumper- it is most likely mold release.

Third- you should have the bumper mounted on the car and all your mounting holes drilled BEFORE you paint it. This will ensure that you don't have to go and do trimming/filling/or drilling after you have it painted.
