I just got myself stock GSX wheels from 1998 eclipse for my 1995 GS-T, I need new tires for the front. I really don't want to spend to much. I am looking at:

Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 225/45 ZR 17 (Is this the best size for the rim????)

Would you guys recommed anything else? Or this is the best chioce for the money and performance. What about Falkens???

Those Kuhmo ecsta supra tires are a good choice. For one they're awesome in the rain, and they ride pretty well. They are also real cheap. I have a set on my eclipse and they perform pretty well for their price. If I'm not mistaken, Kuhmo is one of the 10 biggest tire companies today. Get them.

I have the 712s on my awd talon, and I love them, they were simply the best tires i could afford at the time, and they perform great. Although I ve never had hi-po tires before, so anything would prolly feel awesome. I read a lot of negative reviews on them, but I have been very happy so far.

I have Kumho Ecsta MXs. I like them better than my old Yokohama Paradas. Plus, if you order them from TireRack you get 2 free miniracers!! Seriously though, the tires are good in the rain and have a strong side wall.

225/45/17 is what I have also. For 17s, it is the closest to the stock diameter besides 205/50/17.

Yokohama AVS es100. I think they are a better overall tire and will wear better than the Ecstas.

I wasn't too impressed with the Kumhos but for $78 a tire they weren't awful. The Yoks are only about $20 a tire and so far I like 'em.

I second the Yok AVS ES100! I just got'em from Tirerack for 78 before shipping.

Rides so smooooooooooth and grips good too. It took out the shakes in my steering wheel.

I replaced my Falkens for the Yoks. Yoks feel so much better, comfy and light. Falks felt damn heavy.

For the same price, go Yoks!!!

gl:)

Well I got the Kumho ECSTA Supra's (225/45W17) for $86 each (4), I was thinking of getting Yoks but there were $107 each and I am on a kind of a tight budget at this time. I used to have Kumho's on my 16 inch rims before and they were okay.

i have the 712's on my 90tsi. i think they are OKAY tires for the price, but in my opinion you might as well wait and spend another 100 bucks and get better ones. yea iv read a good amount of negative reviews on them about them sliding around and what not...but you cant come close to anything else for the price. if your car is your daily driver i would get em, if not spend a lil more and get better:)

Since the fact I drive quite often I have to choice to get them. i do about 30,000 miles a year. About 70% of it is highway miles or more. Thanks for your opinion guys. The next car I am getting is probably going to get a nice set kumho MX.

The only problem with the MXs is they will wear quickly kinda like the Falken Azenis which is a really grippy tire but a little on the heavy side.

I think the Yoks would be a better choice for a car that's driven a lot.

i just got them yesterday..

i just got the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 V rated .. off tirerack for 294 shipped for 4 of them!..

god there awsome!.. but my caliper is messed up rigth now.. so i cant drift around and test em .. lolol
