More power when non-WOT?

I dunno if this is possible. Before I start, my mods are MBC@13.5psi and K&N, that's it. I was just wondering if it's possible that a car could pull harder when it's not at WOT. Sometimes I'll give it quite a bit of gas, but won't put it all the way to floor and it seems faster than when I got WOT. Is this possible?

if your timing is being pulled like hell at WOT...then yes, that could happen.

That could be the case, do you get alot of smoke out the exhaust when you go WOT?

Nope, my car never seems to smoke. How do I figure out if timing is being pulled without having a pocketlogger?

do you have an egt gauge? if so, what are your readings?

borrow or buy a pocketlogger...it'll be worth it.

My toyota pickup drives just like this too ... fastest accel top end is like 90% throttle or so... MY car used to feel like that too when it was closer to stock (now its blowed up ).... I always just attributed it to running a tad leaner and hence a little more powerful.... (pocketlogger never showed any problems either)

Mine used to do the same thing and that's one theory that crossed my mind. The turbo makes the same psi but your tps reads lower so not as much gas? Not sure, never bothered to compare airflow.

Hey, If things go as planned I will have a pocketlogger by the end of the month. If you havent figured it out by then I would let you borrow it if you want. I have the same problem, I think it is because my intercooler is getting heat soaked and its probobly knocking like a sob. I'm only at stock 10psi too.

That'd be great if I could use it. I'd like to get one of my own soon but I'm kinda short on cash. My car is white, stock rims for now, and all the windows are tinted pretty dark. It also has a muffler tip on it that was on there when I got the car, but will be gone soon once I get my exhaust system. And the reason I'm short on cash......I don't work anywhere. I'm going to be a freshman at UNI this fall and my parents said they wanted me to concentrate on my last baseball season and have fun this summer. So I don't have much money for mods right now since I just spent a lot of it on the exhaust, but the fuel pump rewire is coming probably this weekend.
