1.8 Talon NT Questions

I didnt know where to put this as far as catagory goes but....

My friend has a 90 talon that she wants to sell and needs money so she said she would sell it to me for $600....the body is in good shape...some rust and paint fade...interior is perfect....the motor is good...the serpentine belt is broken...so that needs fixing obivously...she said it had a new clutch.....the mileage is at 1356--.....can anyone recommend somethings to look for/change?? or any advice...thanks

probably needs a timing belt job since the "serpentine belt" broke..timing belt = serpentine belt . it probably also needs some valves replaced.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the 1.8 is a non-interferance engine. the valves do not hit the pistons if the t-belt breaks. i have a 1.8 and a awd, its fun switching between the two. you should buy the car.

doh i think timing belt failure=bent valves. sorry. i guess buy it for a dd if you can fix it yourself.

hahaha....fighting on a silly post....funny....anyway the timing belt was replaced 20K ago....so is there anything else? Thanks
