You could always just jump the temp switch at the radiator. That way your fans are on all the time when the car is running, they will turn off with the key and it will virtually stay at the rated thermostat temp.
It works very well down here in the heat. ;)

I didn't like the whole switch deal about the relay bypass.

If you drill a small hole in the thermostat's "plate" some coolant will always circulate. This works well too for extra cooling with the fans on all the time or controlled by a switch if you prefer. Mine has a 3/16" hole drilled in it.

I'm pretty sure the fans are ECU-controlled on 2Gs... so no dedicated temp sensor like on the 1Gs.
