Yea, I was on the freeway yesterday night just driving around. Before I begin, im only running 10lbs right now. I just got my 255 installed last night so the 550's and 2g mas are going in today with upped boost. Well anyways, I didn't have my logger with me, but I started out from 2nd gear, around 35-40mph. I went WOT, shifted at close to 70 from 2nd, then hit third went till about 110? then shifted in to 4th, car just stopped accelerating as soon as I got to 125mph. I looked at the afc, my rpms were just hovering around 6400 rpms, just not going any higher. I wish I had my logger or something, what the hell is going on? Is my car governed or something? the rpm's were just cycling around 6400. My lo boost cant be limiting my topspeed can it? Oh and btw, my front lights were not on the car. the headlights were on, but the rest of the assembly was out. Thanks.
 
Well you didn't mention trying to shift into 5th. What happens then?

You car does not have a governer. You didnt' mention aything about having an intake or an exhaust. If you lack those your car would have trouble moving 3500lbs of car against 125 winds. Also, you're not at that much boost (for a 14b). You didn't say what turbo you were running. If your running a stock turbo then you are wasting your time with the 550's and AFC. You need to be more specific about your mods...

yea its just tge 2g's gst because of their tire ratings.

as for 550's and afc on a stock turbo being a waste of time what the hell are you talking about? also i guess you missed the couple lines underneath the post that listed everything he had done to his car. and since its a 1990 laser and lasers werent awd until 1992, then it should weigh arounnd 2800-2900 with driver. the only part of your post that was of any help was telling him that his car wasn't governed.
 
possible mas overrun, then the ecu goes crazy, pulls timing. at 15 lbs on a big 16g, i would hit it at about 6000 rpm. 2g mas took care of it. actually, total driveablility really improved with the 2g mas setup. however, 550's may not be enough. i just installed a new 2.5" turbo back, o2 eliminator downpipe, and now at 18 lbs, my 560's are at 85%

Sorry, I dont' usually read sigs. Not to mention that there are no sigs in the "Topic Review." And running 550's and an AFC on a 14b would be a waste of time. Unless it was a step towards a 16G. Granted you could run more boost, but you would just be blowing hot air and probably wouldn't increase hp that much. Plus if you wanted to run more boost on a 14b you could just use race fuel.
 
A 1g fwd will do a real 140mph stock with proper octane fuel. That is somewhere around 145mph indicated. The previous owner of my car went 145 in my car (indicated) on a flat stretch of road bone stock. I've never taken it that high personally, and don't care to.
