ok guys i have a 99 GS-T with the stock turbo and i just turned up my boost to 14lbs but it would spike to like 17 or 18 then settle, well i was getting on the interstate and floored it in second then shifted to third and was pulling hard and then chug chug chug so i look at the oil pressure gauge and it was fine then i looked at the boost gauge and it read 0. And when i drive it goes to 1900RPM and thats it, i can only go 49mph, i've searched all the threads and they all say that they lose power at 5k and i can't get to 2k so is this just a case of a blown turbo?? thx guys

You probably have a massive boost leak like the lower s-pipe came loose that connects in between the intercooler and turbo. When mine came loose My Rpm's didn't go up past a certain rpm and no power. But I would think you could hear that.

my car has 118 and it still boosts strong 14Lbs. When you start seeing smoke out the tail pipe(Burnt oil) and the turbine has sagnificant play, its that time. It would usually make a grinding metal to metal noise when it has a lot of play. But I don't think you would have to worry about that for a while. As long as you have a turbo timer and your oil is always changed on time, it should last a long while. Personally I change my oil every 2000 miles religiously and only use synthetic. Oil filter is always changed with fresh oil.
